Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

So....after reading the translation of Bob's interview, dude was a full tilt diva all year and it's probably a miracle they were in any position to think about the playoffs. Since he held a full NTC, he had all the power and acted like a petulant brat (hence the suspension).

Good luck Florida. the moment he realizes the defense in front of him sucks he'll check out mentally.

Excellent news and a very reasonable bridge contract for Z. The 3 means that he will still be an RFA when it expires.

2022 is going to be fun with Z and Jones both coming up for renewal at the same time.

The Columbus Blue Jackets made four moves prior to the National Hockey League's 5 p.m. ET deadline to submit its 23-man roster for the opening of the 2019-20 season, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

The Blue Jackets have placed center Brandon Dubinsky (wrist) on Injured Reserve and center Liam Foudy (upper body) on the Injured/Non-Roster list. Columbus also assigned left wing Marko Dano and defenseman Andrew Peeke to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters.

The Blue Jackets' roster includes:

Forwards (13)
10 Alexander Wennberg, 13 Cam Atkinson, 14 Gus Nyquist, 15 Jakob Lilja, 18 Pierre-Luc Dubois, 20 Riley Nash, 22 Sonny Milano, 28 Oliver Bjorkstrand, 38 Boone Jenner, 42 Alexandre Texier, 52 Emil Bemstrom, 71 Nick Foligno and 77 Josh Anderson

Defense (8)
3 Seth Jones, 4 Scott Harrington, 8 Zach Werenski, 27 Ryan Murray, 44 Vladislav Gavrikov, 46 Dean Kukan, 58 David Savard, 65 Markus Nutivaara

Goaltenders (2)
70 Joonas Korpisalo and 90 Elvis Merzlikins.

Columbus opens its 19th regular season vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday, October 4. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET.

According to this site: https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/bluejackets
The Jackets are $8.675M under the salary cap. Why didn't they sign a couple good FAs?

This team looks like one of those teams that might struggle in October and November but rip off 15 in a row when they are well out of the playoffs. This franchise has done that at least 2 times in the past decade too.

For those that are curious, Bob has a 4.77 GAA and an awful .859% save percentage right now. We're within a week or so of either a quasi-phantom groin injury or a full mental checkout.
