Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

First time in NHL history teams with 7+ game winning streaks each face off. Hard to believe that.

Obviously occupied with other events at hand, but NYE should be fun with that one.
The ESPN ticker showed that it will be the first time ever that teams with 12+ game win streaks met...unreal if true.

Just sayin': The longest overall winning streak belongs to the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins who won 17 games in a row.

True, but if I'm not mistaken the 15-game streak is tied for 2nd longest ever (two other teams had 15-game streaks).

The Penguins' mark has stood for 23 years. Since it was set, the 2012-13 Penguins came closest by winning 15 in a row; that also was the mark the 1992-93 Penguins broke, originally reached by the 1981-82 New York Rangers. Two other teams (the 1929-30 Boston Bruins and 2009-10 Washington Capitals) won 14 consecutive games.

Columbus returns home to face Edmonton on Tuesday.

After that, the Blue Jackets play 11 straight games against Eastern Conference teams.

Only one of those teams went on to compete for Lord Stanley's Cup. (1929-30 Boston Bruins who went on to lose a best of three game series, 2-0.)
