Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

I don't think it's a coincidence that this is happening after the new GM has been put in place. With the addition of Patrick a couple years ago, and Davidson in the off-season, there are more guys in this organization used to winning. Total attitude change. They've also brought in some guys who have been on winning teams and know how to battle. A lot more leadership now than ever before.

I love Rick Nash still, but this team is now the Columbus Blue Jackets and not the Columbus Rick Nash's. They have an identity. /cheesy

They close out this month with 4 games against teams below them (Calgary x2, Nashville, Edmonton), a game against a team slightly above them (Vancouver), and a game versus a team towards the top of the standings (Anaheim).

Kicker is 4 of the 6 are on the road including a 3 game trip north of the border. Chance to likely move into a playoff spot, or fade for another season in the next 10 days.

Ok, just won tickets on the radio. Never been to hockey game before, taking the VERY pregnant wife. seats are in section C8. so I was hoping you guys could answer some questions. A) Is there anything specific I need to know about parking or getting around. B) any general info I need or things I should avoid. C) are these seats any good? D) what is no touch icing and should I like it?

C8 is the club level I think (it's been a while since I've been in Nationwide), so you'll have a little more room if I'm right.

If I were you, I'd drop her off at the front of the arena (by the nationwide building) or if you park by Huntington Stadium, drop her off by the box office down there. The parking is semi-close, but if she's really pregnant, you'll want to limit it a bit since you'll be walking a lot in the arena..

I can't really think of anything to avoid really, but you'll want to check where the cannon is so your wife is aware of it when it goes off.

no touch icing doesn't exist (Yet), so don't worry about it.

No touch icing only applies to the college game as Mike80 sort of indicated. In the college game when the puck crosses the opponents goal line from two lines out the whistle is automatically blown and the opponent does not have to touch the puck which is the case in professional hockey.

The NHL board of governors proposed adopting it for the NHL game too last week :(

But it won't be in effect until next year at the very least.

Club level? Pretty safe to say those are awesome seats. Parking is pretty easy. Plenty of garages. Hardest part is getting out, but if you know downtown it's still pretty easy. Congrats and have fun!

I'm very torn right now.

I want Seth Jones, Nathan Mackinnon, or Jonathan Drouin in the upcoming draft.

If the Jackets keep this up then they are going to play themselves right out of what could be a critical piece of their rebuilding. Make no mistake Jackets fans, this team needs to be rebuilt.

Bobrovsky is playing out of his mind right now and keeping them in ALL of these streak games.

I'm excited as hell and would love to see this team in the play offs at the end of the season, but I'm also of the belief that this team is "fake" good right now and desperately in need of some offensive talent via the draft.
