Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Love it.
Just wish that we had a better team to root for here in Columbus. I grew up a Pittsburgh fan but kind of lost touch when I moved to Columbus. I was really excited when C-bus got a team, but that excitement has somewhat deteriorated with each passing season.

Last season was the low point of my hockey fandom. This season just seems kind of fake. The only thing to root for is the Rangers to keep sucking along with the Blue Jackets.

Could they get the 1st and 2nd pick in the draft????:biggrin:

EDIT Had to rant some more. The black cloud that hangs over this franchise is almost comical at this point. The NHL made it so Edmonton got the top pick in the draft....again....and their top pick is on pace to score 30 goals. We can't get that out of ANYBODY in an entire season. It just sucks to be a Jackets fan.

EDIT AGAIN: And tonight St. Louis brings their 5-1 record into Nationwide with their hall of fame coach that the Blue Jackets brain trust saw fit to fire. So Columbus fires Hitchcock and he turns around and wins the Jack Adams Coach of the Year award with the Blues. Man, it just sucks to be a Jackets fan.

In come the Blues with their former Blue Jackets coach and promptly take a 3-0 lead after the 1st. Jackets end up losing the game 4-1.

What must Howson think as he's watching these games? Is there any way that he could possibly think that he deserves the GM job in Columbus? Is there any way that he could possibly think that he's done a good job up to this point?

The only saving grace right now is that they seem to suck badly enough and the Rangers suck badly enough that they might have two really high 1st round draft picks.

Other than that there is NOTHING to get excited about with regard to this team.

13 goals in 8 games. :slappy: (I refuse to count the "goal" from winning a shootout.)

Outscored 10-2 in the first period. :rofl:

They have only "won" 5 out of 24 periods. :lol:

Oh, look. Down a goal in the 1st. Given up the first goal in 7 out of 9 games.

Of course, they are 0-2 in the games where they score first, so.....right.
