Yeah, I'm the one on the high horse. That's funny coming from the guy who shits all over other teams' successes whenever possible. I was applauding the Jackets for making a bold move. If that's being on a high horse, then I guess I don't know what the fuck a high horse is anymore.

since the Indians are on a off day, he is taking time out to troll the Jackets thread instead!

Show me where I was on a high horse. I'm curious. There's one post in this recent string of posts that I could somewhat see as a "high horse" post and you made it.

EDIT: Actually, don't. I'm done with this stupid fucking argument. Congrats to the Jackets on making an aggressive trade that the franchise desperately needed. I'm not going to ride off in the sunset on my beautiful horse that's high as a kite.

So you disagree with the Datsyuk and Zetterberg contracts then?

This was a GREAT trade for the CBJ. They desperately needed someone who can take the pressure off of Nash. That wasn't Jake Voracek.

I watch the Jackets but that's all the hockey I ever watch..so I assume by the high praise of Carter he's pretty good. I do know a goalie and defenseman are much needed. Anyone know if Moore or I think it's Johanson will be in Columbus soon?

Well, Chicago got into the playoffs without playing any defense until March :p

That said, believe it or not, until it was clear this team was done last year, they weren't horrifically bad on defense and Voracek or Krusty Lesla had very little do to with it.

As Arneil gets his type of guys into his system, I think the defensive holes will diminish somewhat.

They're Red Wings, the only players ever good enough to sign for that long. Duh. Er, I mean WOOOOWWWWWW

I'm of the opinion that when you find a player who fits your system willing to sign for that long at today's going rate, you do it, especially if that player is 26 years old.

That's just me. Now the Wings did something similar with Dats and Z, but that's worked out very very well for them.

I still think we need an anchor back there. Lots of teams would love to have a guy like a Methot, but for their third line because they have big guns in front of them. We have several interchangable parts, and they are reasonable parts but not great ones on their own. I dunno, Rivet used to be a captain...do we even still have him???

Oh I agree...it's not like it's the Ilya contract where they're paying 12 million per until he's 66 years old.

I don't know....until this trade I've not paid any attention to the NHL since the Wings shit the bed against San Jose...

Arniel's system uses d-men that jump up into the offensive zone. Other than Russell, they really don't have that guy either.

Just be glad they got rid of Commodeitdore....
