Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

The Canucks are playing minor leaguers on their blue line, but Luongo is good enough to make up for it.

The CBJ have to shut down the Sedins.

Hamhuis and Ballard are on their way back to full strength. I still have reservations about Luongo and his mentality in the playoffs. But your probably right, I dont think anyone can stop the sedins or kesler at this point.

The CBJ or only 4 points out of 5th, really there are bigger goals to be had than a possible 8th seed. I think this next road trip will make or break the CBJs playoff chances.

I think it also has to do with the product on the ice.

There are those of us that go to the games and watch on TV no matter how they are doing, but they aren't getting the casual fan.

Cost has become an issue in the recent economy so game attendance suffers and if you have a team that nobody believes in then they aren't going to pay attention.

This team needs to win consistently and the fans will be come. They have a lot of ground to make up with the casual fan base in Columbus.

Ticketmaster seating availability chart for tomorrow night agrees with your theory:

Damn, I might pick up some tickets.

I've noticed some pretty solid crowds for the last few games I've been to. TV ratings have to be impacted by the stretch of suck in December/January. I think the city is noticing the recent play though. The crowd was excellent on Tuesday.

FSOhio also showing Cavs games, the basketball team doing well, the product on the ice in December/January probably all have an impact on viewership. But the bottom line is that people will pay to see a good team, though.
