nash named first star of the week

FIRST STAR -- RICK NASH, RW, COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS

Nash led all goal-scorers last week with six, including a pair of game-winners, as the Blue Jackets (12-6-0) swept a three-game trip through California for the first time in franchise history. Nash scored two goals, including the game-winner, as Columbus handed the Los Angeles Kings their first home loss of the season, 5-3, on Nov. 17. He added a goal in a 4-3 win at Anaheim on Nov. 19 before collecting his fifth career hat trick, including the game-winner, and firing eight shots on goal in a 3-0 win at San Jose on Nov. 20. The Columbus captain enters tonight's game against Nashville riding an eight-game point streak (9-3--12), a five-game goal streak (8-1--9) and season totals of 12-4--16 in 17 games.

7-1 on the road is just retarded. Best away record in the league. This team could create some serious buzz in C-Bus. I hope ticket sales begin to reflect the team's play. They deserve a solid crowd.

I think as long as the Jackets stay in that contender position, the fans will start flocking. I wish I could make it for a Jackets game, never been to one. Hopefully here soon.

wow, what a game to be at. the crowd seemed very in to it, with many standing o's and it just seemed like a good atmosphere for a monday night. i cant say enough of how impressed i am with this team. they show so much character, and continue to pick eachother up. i really am liking commie back in the lineup too. good veteran presence and has really played physical and has been jumping up into the play which has created some goals the last few games. our top line looks as good as any right now, and really all of our lines have great chemistry right now. im really excited to see how far this team can go being so young, but they will end up having to deal with adversity some time or another. lets just hope arnie can keep em focused!

as for the new jersey, i really have a feeling this is what its going to look like (minus the logo). if you read the article i posted earlier, the logo will have a cannon and a star inside a lighter blue circle, and the design is 'rangers' esque (statue of liberty jersey)

They have basically the same team as last year; is Scott Arniel just doing a better job than previous coaches?
they underperformed last year and suffered from a lot of injuries. this year they are playing very well. hitch is a legendary hall of fame coach, arneil has proven himself to be a good coach in the ahl. i think a lot of credit goes to hitch for his rigidity and forcing guys to round out their games, playing two ways and with structure. i also think arneil has implemented a system which seems to fit this team well. then again this was only the 4th game within the division, many, many more to come. i still stick by my assumption that this is a 6-9th place in the west type of team with the schedule and division they play in.
