Don't hate just because you never owned a pair of bauers and an easton.

I owned plenty of Eastons....

And some Rawlings and Mizuno and the rest.

No rinks = no hockey for me. But that doesn't mean I say "we" when I discuss how fucking horrific the Baltimore Orioles are or aren't (mostly are since that little bastard in New York stole a home run, but I digress)....

someone tell me why i saw that name and was like WTF? greenies to that person...

Probably because he's a fucking wolverine.

you really think they could have? next year will be interesting with commie, hes never, never been healthy this year. not since training camp.

No, not with that salary and this year's level of play. That's what would have made it such a good move. :tongue2:

ticket q?

I am going to be in columbus this coming weekend and think I will go to my first game. I am wondering about tickets. if I don't get them off ebay or similar are there usually cheap tickets being sold around the arena before the game.

thanks

I think they sell those Huntington green seat tickets sometime before the game. They are advertised for around $10 or so...which is way too much to pay to see this team, IMO.

Yeah, my "gut reaction" was a little too strong, after it sunk in a little bit. The core of the team is still here, so .... I posted in haste, I guess.

no doubt, and i feel more than comfortable calling you out on it. reality of hockey at the deadline is free agency moves from below the bar to at/above the bar. its always emotional response at the deadline.

Like I said...all that's left to play for is that number one pick. Nash hurt? That can only help!!!

Edmonton is 13 points below them and toronto is 9 with the Isles and Hurricanes right there around 61 points.

They are seriously going to have to suck the rest of the way down the stretch to get the 1st pick. I'd say they are nearly a lock for the 3rd pick though

Besides they play Detroit 3 times in the last 10 days of the season. I am absolutely certain Detroit will completely fuck up one of those 3 and maybe 2 of the 3.

ill be watching for something tonight. what ive seen since the first period of the sharks game before the olympic break has been something. what i have seen is teams no longer allow russell to flow free and skate the puck out of the zone, thus allowing him to create and carry speed down the ice. instead, teams have used a high skater to shadow russell. (think of this like a team using a safety to spy on a dual threat qb). in doing this it makes it much more difficult, not impossible, to skate through or even out of the zone. by eliminating the free run out of the zone, it has slowed russell down. pretty much every time hes been on the ice teams have done this. it doesnt make it so he cant skate the puck down the ice (and deep into the zone to be a threat) rather it makes it more difficult and substantially slows him down, making it vastly less effective.

so how do you counter this...

well first you might look to the pairing, in reality if its a guy like tyutin (or another mobile defencemen) not commodore, then russell can draw pressure then pass, the other defencemen then has the ability to skate the puck. or you could bring a forward down back through the zone in a U through the neutral zone, you could attack with a forward hanging back through the neutral zone and have russell attempt to make that pass, use a forward to dump it to, etc. the reality is many opportunities are available and none, not one, have been attempted.

simply put, its an elementary adjustment i havent seen made. and im sure management has as well...
