Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

I figure these guys would be moved (if they can find someone to take their contracts)..

Torres, Commodore, Modin, Huselius, Garon.. uhhh.. I think that'll be it. I think they'll keep Umberger and Klesla.

I've heard that Pittsburgh is coveting Umberger or Torres. I think if Umberger moves it'd have to be an overpayment. I think Torres is more likely. Probably worth a pick or a prospect, maybe both depending on the quality.

So what do you play for now?

The top spot in the draft? Is there a center that could be NHL ready?

Christ almighty this team is just weak. From Nash on down. They need a leader in the locker room. Get that C off of Nash and give it to someone who is going to breathe some life into this team.

There was nothing to play for before Hitch was fired.

But yes, there is a center that will be NHL ready. Taylor Hall. Tyler Seguin will likely be the #2 pick, but I'm pretty sure he's a winger. Edmonton will probably pick first though..

The Jackets look excellent tonight. Getting offensive chances and playing faster. Really like what I'm seeing.

Mason has looked stellar since the coaching change.. the one goal he's given up was tough.

Ex-Jacket OKT was traded with a 5th round pick to Detroit for Ville Leino, then OKT was placed on waivers.

Cap move for Detroit.

yeah with Franzen coming back Tuesday and Lilja starting his rehab stint they had to clear a roster spot and cap room.

Leino is a whiny bitch on the Zherdev level. He was never going to fit in under Babcock.

If OKT clears waivers he'll go down to GR.

Fucking Umby getting in a fight :banger:

And bleeding :banger:

If we would have known they would play like this after Hitch got canned, he should have been axed back in November.

However, I still think his firing was a sad result of a young team not buying into the system, not the system itself.

Probably the best game I've seen from the Jackets all year. 4-0 shutout. Mason looked great, the team controlled everything about the game. Finally saw that the Jackets actually have a talented team. Definitely not a non-playoff team like they unfortunately will be.

I thought that the goal by Jurcina was a really slick play. I wonder how often they practice that one.

That actually was a set play to drive the puck off of the kicker boards and get a big bounce for Detroit throughout the 90s and 00s but they don't seem to be using it as much this year (and oddly enough, this year they suck and won't make the playoffs)....I mean, remember how much Versus and NBC were whining about it in the playoffs last year and the year before that...
