Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

I haven't heard the complaining. That looks like some pretty stupid stuff to be complaining about. But I'll be honest, it doesn't surprise me. There are some stupid Penguins fans out there. It's sad that when I say I'm a Pens fan I have to explain that I have been since I was in single digits in age.
its come from the org (team, coaches, mgt). its comical especially to those who follow western conf teams. comical thing is other eastern teams have said similar things. for western clubs to have that kind of schedule for travel would require the season to start july 1...

For as good as they looked in the first period, they looked almost as bad in the 3rd. That being said, 2nd night of a b2b, on the road, backup goalie in, down Huselius, Blunden, Murray, Commodore, and eventually Dorsett....give me the 2 points over style points every time.

and you really think the SO is "anti-climatic"? do you not stand, cheer, heart races, feel the joys, jubilation, sorrow, do you not see the puck trickle in sometimes in what seems like slow motion? (even if its not your team i think most people get a little juiced). like i said i think its lost some of the edge, but i think its a good way to not have draws, to have some excitement and give you something to talk about a the water cooler.

I also find them quite anti-climactic. Shootouts seem to be made up of short bursts of crowd energy (as opposed to the constant excitement of the final minutes of regulation/OT), and half the time they end on a missed shot (which is almost the definition of anti-climax unless you're a huge goalie fan). I guess it's better than a draw, but not by a whole lot.

Count me in as someone who finds shootouts boring in the NHL. At least, if you want to make them really count, do 5 like soccer does, not 3. Then the depth of the teams can really shine through as a measure of quality. The way it is now you get a couple of shots, and then a night of work is blown one way or the other. That one against San Jose really seemed anti-climatic, and maybe it was just me, but it didn't seem like crowd was too into it either (I know some of you were there, maybe I'm wrong). Plus when the guys finished, there was no big celebration by the winning team, just kind of a yippee, WTFE response. Contrast that with the OT winner in Washington where guys were excited...I dunno, I just don't care for it.
