Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Went to the game tonight. Second shootout in a row. I fucking hate shootouts.

Mason looked great out there. He had some huge saves in some key moments (a couple in OT).

Really want to see Filatov playing more.. not on the fourth line. I think he could be great with Voracek and Vermette.

Good point for us tonight...we can live with that. Tomorrow's game will be important too...need at least a point in Atlanta, despite the quick turnaround. I am guessing Garon might get a start?

Anyone have a read on our chances tonight? I think we can get some scoring opportunities on the because of the Pacific division style of play, but Nabokov has been playing very well recently and we obviously can't be allowing 6 goals again. First of a back-to-back...hate to take a bad loss.

when they play their system they can play with anybody. that being said weve yet to see the top pairing together at all this season (through 14 games). also last night the jackets played without a top six pivot (brass), first line winger (juice) and one of the first pairing dmen (commie) during the game they lost two bottom six players (blunden and mackenzie). pic is on recall, should be in atl in time.

i think youll see the thrashers try and play river hockey tonight, columbus will try and slow the pace using their system. think of it like this...thrashers are a mike leach tex tech team trying to create offense at all costs and hitchs clubs is like woody hayes, smack you in the punch, hit hard, hit often, score a few goals, dont give an inch.

you preferred to pay $150 for two tickets to walk away with a draw? reality is it has no impact on the standings (if you take the three point standings out the end season outcomes are nearly identical) ill give you that theyve become "less exciting" the more you see them, however you dont see fans sitting during them, granted half the time the home crowd ends up sulking home, the other half of the time they are buzzing about a sweet save/move-goal. pre SO can you remember how many teams went neutral ice hockey and packed it in and took the points? a lot/most.

Why would they move the newest franchise away so soon? Everyone in the area seems to like hockey a bit more now that the Jackets are in town. I don't get all these rumor talks of the Jackets moving.

They've lost like 7 mil over the past 8 years, but it takes a while for a city to embrace a team (and a sport, in this case) and now that the CBJ are better in quality and the fans have had a decade to warm up to it, I am hoping this is all conjecture and nothing more. It would be a total shame for the Jackets to move, not the least of which is because most of the NHL's other moves over the years have been a disaster or at least not better than the place they left in the long term (Hartford, Winnipeg, etc.)

Shit, if anything, the NHL just had to buy the fucking Coyotes...move their asses.
