Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

St. Louis and Colorado today at 5. If the Blues win, its Columbus-Detroit in the first round. I can't say I'd be too disappointed with that - which is not to say I think we'd win the series, but we could finally spark the rivalry we've wanted since we entered the league by putting up a fight in more ways than one.

2 games to get 1 point:! Playing Ottawa would have been much better. Chances of advancing would have been greater. I know that we play well against Detroit but that also is during the regular season not during the playoffs. We will be gone after the first round:(

Blues Win 1-0.

Looks like we have (get?) to go up against the Wings. Should be an interesting baptism into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. At least we won't have to stay up until 1:00 in the morning watching the Jackets play on the Left Coast.

well we were 3-3 during the regular season v. detroit. obviously they have a boat load of talent and will be difficult to beat. best pp in the league vs. the worst. must be smart and not give them easy penalties. on the other hand, the travel situation is great as its a 30 min flight to dtw versus a 4 hour flight to van. nash really thrives against det too, remember he scored a hat trick (including the OT winner) against them... and lastly the goaltending is going to be key as always... osgood has struggled. hopefully mason has saved his best for last.
