yeah...look at this schedule too...

@ Nash tonight (2-4 L)
@ Det on Saturday (it's in Detroit so that means probable L) (8-2 W)
vs Boston on Tuesday (Boston is looking mortal these days but still a tough matchup) (2-0 W)
vs Pit on Thursday (likely L) (4-3 W)
AT Chi on Friday (ouch) (5-3 W)
vs Detroit on Sunday (it's in Columbus, so that means maybe a W) (4-0 L)
vs Chicago on Wednesday the 18th (ouch again) (4-3 W)
Then finally on the 21st it's @ Florida which is the easiest game in the stretch but Florida doesn't suck either.

That's a hell of a two week schedule. I'll be shocked if they get any more than 6 points out of those 8 games. I've been wrong before, but damn....

If they get to the playoffs, they will have earned it.

5-2 in that stretch.

Dude, do you know the winning lottery numbers? :slappy:

these 3 point games are brutal. It seems like minny and edmonton are getting a point a night no matter what.

Last 10 games

CBJ 7-3 14 points

Edmonton 4-2-4 12 points

Minny 3-4-3 9 points - total bullshit

it sucks when you can win 3 more games out of 10 and only gain 2 points

Vancouver and Edmonton pick up 2 points in regulation.

Nashville goes into San Jose, gets outshot 34-24, goes 24-40 on face offs and is going to get at least 1 point out of it. 2-2 start of OT.

EDIT
SJS wins in a shootout.

Blue Jackets Xtra : Brassard could rejoin Jackets for playoff run

Brassard could rejoin Jackets for playoff run

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Rookie center Derick Brassard has been dropping hints around Nationwide Arena that his surgically repaired right shoulder could be well enough for him to return to the lineup if the Blue Jackets qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs.

General manager Scott Howson tempered the enthusiasm, but only slightly.
"We don't want to get ahead of ourselves here," Howson said yesterday. "But if we were able to make it into the playoffs and get into the second round, yes, there's a chance Derick could be a player for us.

"But he's not going to play before May. There's no way he plays before May."

continued.....

A MUST win game tomorrow against an inferior Eastern Conference team.

Edmonton and St. Louis won while the Wild lost.

After that, the next game is in Tampa which they also HAVE TO win.

Look at it this way.....

Right now St. Louis is on the outside looking in at 75 points with 10 games remaining. They can top out at 95 points if they win every game.

Columbus has a game in hand and has 80 points.

Columbus is actually kinda close to clinching a spot. St. Louis has a rough patch coming up.

STL:

LA Kings
Vancouver
Columbus
@Columbus
@Chicago
@Detroit
@Dallas
@Phoenix
Columbus
@Chicago

They STL need every single game to be a win to get to 95. The only team they have winning records against in that stretch are Dallas and Columbus (I think, it's too late to go through the entire schedule)....

Put it this way, Columbus sweeps that back to back against STL they are more or less in the playoffs at that point. St. Louis won't be able to catch them.

not sure id call the Panthers "inferior"

they have 80 points as well and are 1 point out of the playoffs in the east, so they need it just as much as the CBJ

I am still of the opinion that if the CBJ were in the East, and especially the SouthEast division, they would have nearly 100 points and be the 2 seed in the east right now.

Florida isn't there yet. Their year to make noise was supposed to be next season. Vokoun is a very underrated goalie so it's on Columbus to make sure he doesn't steal a game.

alright, I can understand that

the real inferior team here however is Tampa Bay, losing to them would be a kick in the nuts

that's part of being a Wings fan I guess.

There's something to be said about expecting to win a game from a player standpoint without being arrogant or taking the team lightly. When the CBJ develop this attitude full time (and they have shown signs like when they played against the Wings in the 8-2 game or against Chicago and Boston) they will really take the next step.
