So. Still got a few minutes. Some things I've seen and would like to get out there.
Good:
Braxton Miller. Further along then were Pryor was at a similar age by far. Outstanding agility and acceleration.
Oline in run blocking. Solid day.
Running backs. Remember when some thought Jordan Hall was just a guy to be package-offered with Terrelle? Put that to rest. He might just be the best offensive weapon on this team. Yes I'm also including Braxton and Boom in that.
Devin Smith. He'll be a good one.
We're using the TE's more in the passing game. Good stuff.
I like our DB's in man coverage, they don't mind flying up to support the run either. - on that note. Welcome back Moeller. I know he had that face mask. But he was visible and active very early on.
Bad.
Discipline on the Oline. Shugarts - can't be having those false starts buddy.
Our linebacker play concerns me still. I could go into detail. Many here see it though.
Angles and tackling in general with the defense are also a concern.
Defense as a whole needs to play a bit more aware or 'heads up'. Bino and Sweat got caught looking into the backfield a few times. Youth perhaps? Not sure if you could say that about Sweat.
Covering TE's. Appears to be a little bit of a problem as well.
Dline getting inconsistent pressure. I love Simon, but he doesn't appear to be a rusher that has gives the fear of being able to turn the corner on his man every time he's at DE. Perhaps a nagging injury? or being cautious? Tons of youth on the Dline as well - but more is needed. I'm sure these coaches will find it. * Lining up Hankins at SDE on running downs. He's best suited right up the middle. Especially on running downs. (or perhaps I'm hallucinating? been drinking consistently since 11)
Braxton. Not so much a "bad". But you've got to learn to protect yourself young man.
That said. Happy about the win. Didn't think we'd score quite so much. Couple good turnovers and special teams didn't scare me half to death.
Time for a little more drinky drink. God bless.
