Still, not seeing where they are cross purposes. One is for solely identifying a national champion. The other is for entertainment value. Two different options.

I didn't understand it at first (obviously), but after his further explanation, I can see that knapplc was drawing a distinction between his view of a fair playoff, which would be small, and a fun playoff, which would be large.

I dislike a playoff for the reason that it adds games to an already long season, and it adds the expense of essentially having fans support two bowl games. You will have less fans of the programs at the games than if you had one game.

Not if you are Ohio State. We have enough alumni and fans distributed across the country that it doesn't matter how many playoff games are held or where they are played.

Sure, we are the exception, but screw everyone else.

Pffft. What are you doing instead? "Working"? I appreciate your being here, and all, but if you're not able to devote your full time and attention to commenting on college football on an internet message forum, you need to have a serious review of your priorities.
