On December 4, 2014, Riley was named head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. As a former Idahoan, he has always hated corn and loved potatoes.
Riley has never won a conference championship. He's never finished better than 3rd place. He runs a Pro-Style, so it's going to be a couple of years before he gets his players in. He's 61.Initial shock aside, and trying to look at this objectively...I still have nothing. I don't think it'll be a disastrous hire. I mean, most everybody says he's a pretty good coach that gets the most out of limited talent, but is he an upgrade? I see him as the kind of coach that will probably consistently win 8-10 games if he can upgrade the talent he has to work with. But conference titles? National title? Not bloody likely. Looks like it'll be the same 9-4 corn. But it'll be a nicer 9-4, I guess.
