Regarding the Hairball thing, as late as this afternoon *goblog had plenty of people seeming to come to the realization that the leaks are nothing more than to set the baseline for NFL teams and even a few who we're holding out hope he would come also seemed to recognize that it's likely a short term stay before going back to the NFL.

Personally, I hope that they end up with another mediocre coach, but if he comes, he'll flame out in AA too. His ego is his downfall.

If Harbaugh has any aspirations of ever being in the NFL again, he won't take the scum job.
Going DOWN market to the scUM job will kill his earnings potential long term.
He has a choice and college football is a bad move for him.

I don't know, Taos. He's set financially, he certainly doesn't seem like a lavish guy. There's plenty of owners that would still want him. Look at the PR makeover that Pete Carroll had at USC. When he left the Pats he came off as overwhelmed and stressed. Now he seems ten years younger. Harbaugh needs a better image, he can get one in AA.

Whether or not top flight kids want to play for him is another story. That roster is at least two years away from being able to compete at a high level.

If they get him well I guess it's been a while since we played a good scUM team. If they don't at least it shows one other team in the B1G is willing to dish out the $$$$ to get what they want and aren't going after some bargain bin PoS like Hoke. That being said whoever they get I hope urban turns him into a crater next year.
