Coaching changes: coaches hired and fired, comings and goings

Well guys...the fallout is starting to settle after yesterday's announcement.

Many were talked back off the ledge (myself included).

Players met with new head coach last night. Here's a funny pic.

For those that may not know - the fella on the left is Jordan Westerkamp, from Ohio. Guy catches anything in his zipcode.

The guy on the right? Soon to be un-employed 'quarterback' Tommy Armstrong. He's smiling now, but when he's riding the pine cause he can't read a defense in the new pro style offense he's about to run, he will look more like this:

All the defensive guys are like, "Meh...waaaaaaaah."

The offensive guys are like, "Yippieeeee!"

One other thing. If you guys thought that the hilarity that is Nebraska Football at this point in time is over, you are mistaken.

Watch this video. A few minutes in, Jack Gangwish, a D-End here, obviously shows that he's not impressed with the new coach:

Apparently, he didn't know Mike Riley is such a loving, caring guy, that even the wildlife love him. And apparently, the wildlife don't take kindly to people messing with their Mike Riley....

On a day when Nebraska football made national news for bagging a Beaver, a Husker defensive end was recovering from a tussle with a raccoon.

Jack Gangwish was driving north on 27th Street about 3 miles north of town Wednesday night when he spotted a raccoon on the side of the road and decided to take a picture.

The 21-year-old got out of his 2002 Chevy Duramax pickup truck and tried to take a photo with the animal using his cellphone, but the raccoon attacked, biting Gangwish in the calf.

“It was a raccoon selfie gone completely wrong,” Gangwish said Thursday evening, laughing.

He knew the animal should be tested for rabies, so he grabbed a crescent wrench with the aim of subduing it.

Things didn’t work out that way, unfortunately for the raccoon.

“It was death by crescent wrench,” the 6-foot-2, 260-pound Gangwish said.

Gangwish said authorities are testing the raccoon carcass for rabies.

I think it was more the fact that a guy in a Chevy truck saw a raccoon on the side of the road and stopped to take a picture of it.

Most folks with that kind of truck would just run over the freaking thing. You have to be pretty special to do something so stupid.

No wonder they'll miss Bo....not much common sense on that kid.

Coach O getting off the plane with boys! #betternotbephotoshopped

Orgeron is one hell of a coach and a legendary recruiter, but he's not real big on the academics. If Riley can soften Coach O's approach though this is a home run.

USC players seemed to have a lot more respect for O on his second go-round when he was interim HC following Kiffin's firing.
