Tuberville's record since his undefeated season:jlb1705;2274736; said:The funny part is, all of the juggalos that re-emerged on my twitter feed today. Some of them even implied that this changed their standing as a football program in the state of Ohio... as if the arrival of this guy somehow made Ohio State not Ohio State anymore, and UC not UC anymore. C'mon.

I still can't believe this dork smacked a man on the sidelines.
average Cincy fan rant said:Ohio State fans just better realize that Tuberville will be marking the game against Ohio State on his calendar. It's going to be the biggest game of his career. Cincy fans are going to be lining up in their juggaloes gear to signal the end of Ohio State's dominance as the only BCS school in the state.
Mark my words. They will put more effort into this than any of your realize and you are giving them too little due. Cincy is now much more than a basketball school. Your days of dominance at Ohio State are over.

Then my thoughts went to, what the heck is wrong at Texas Tech. UC is a step down in nearly every respect.
Then I thought, if UC can shake this guy loose from Texas Tech, why aren't mid- and lower-tier B1G schools able to make better hires like this? UC has all the same disadvantages, and many more to go with it.
Then I remembered Ron Zook. This has that kind of vibe to me and I'm glad he didn't end up at a place like Illinois or Minnesota.
He's a name that people recognize, so it's a PR win for UC and their athletic department. It may even lend them enough cachet for a short time to get their ticket punched into a big-boy conference if the dominoes fall soon enough. In the long term though, I don't see it working out as well as any of their last few hires.

CincyInterloper;2275090; said:Given the state of UC football after being kicked in the nuts by mass defections from the Big East, being rejected for membership in the ACC, and Jones resigning, this is kind of a BFD for the Bearcats. Tuberville is no Urban Meyer, and only time will tell if he can "take UC up a level" like Tuberville said he wanted to during the press conference last night. But for the moment, this looks like a home run for Cincinnati.

Question might be, is the Navy coach above going to Boulder?
