Coaching changes: coaches hired and fired, comings and goings

Well, Wisconsin has just posted a job opening for OC, leading many to believe Matt Canada is gone after just one year on the job. So, to recap, Wisconsin will now need to fill:
Head coach
Offensive coordinator
Defensive coordinator

Yikes.

It can be a good thing.

Sure it kinda breaks the Alvarez tree, but new blood can be a good thing.

I suppose. There's just some fatigue as this will now be the second consecutive year where almost the entire staff is turned over.

Wisky is taking forever to make a hire. Who are they targeting and is their procrastination going to hurt recruiting?

Honestly I have no idea. Nobody does. Barry is playing this one very close to the vest, unlike the search that took place at Tennessee. I think most "splash" hires are off the table (i.e. Petersen, Golden), so I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to lure Joe Rudolph back from Pitt or went after Bob Diaco, the DC at Notre Dame.

The big knock on him would be age. He's about to turn 60. I'm not sure how aggressive he'd be on the recruiting trail.

Riley would be able to sell kids on the numbers he's put in the League when not many have been highly recruited. I can't see him moving to Madison from the town he grew up in though.

Why not Paul Chryst?
