Well yeah, his and the NFL team that offered him a job. So no, it wasn't "solely his doing." Wasn't Rutgers also slow rolling him on facilities upgrades he was promised? I seem to recall he had some issues with that.

I think they chose the best available option. Its simply a bonus he happens to be an alum
They weren't going to get Jimbo Fisher or Chip Kelly (yes, Kelly was a rumor).

The administration wanted someone with championship pedigree and he has it from two different schools. Smart recruits the hell out of the south and always lands big recruits.
I like the fact that he's been approached by other mid level jobs in the past and turned them down. He was clearly waiting for the right opportunity and was confident enough in his ability to stay put until it came around.

I'm nervous to see how he manages a staff around him and if he can get AD and University leadership to buy into his vision.

Oh there are plenty of fat people up north. That's not what I'm talking about at all.

A large portion of southern men tend towards a specific type of soft doughy facial features that is unique to the region.

Believe it or not most people in the world don't look like they are members of the Bowden family.

How about Bert, Hoke and Cheesebuger Charlie? Do they trace their routes south? I mean before their routes led to White Castle?

ECU has fired Ruffin McNeil. Immediate candidate appears to be Lincoln Riley. South Carolina fans are already dealing with the reality they're not prestigious enough to get Tom Herman out of Houston. Now they're going to find out Lincoln Riley would rather be at ECU than USCe.

Poor Gamecocks are gonna have to hope some out of work retired HoF coach falls in their lap because he likes the golf courses.

I think they should consider hiring John L Smith. Just for the laughs he provides.
