Cleveland Indians Thread of Malaise (2014 Season)

I would say bench Murphy but who the hell are you going to put in RF if you would do that? I mean he is still batting over 200 which is a big thing on this team. I know that Swisher got a couple hits when he was rehabbing down in Akron but maybe they should send him to Columbus to see if he can still hit or see what a hit looks like. Of all my years of being a Cleveland Indians fan, I never thought this team would be that bad. An Indians pitcher must think he has to pitch a no-no when he steps on the mound and hopes that the game does not go into extra innings.

Bourn to the DL, Tyler Holt up.

Holt's 25 and not a premium prospect, but played at a good Florida State program and has kept his stats at a decent level when moving up the system. It's clicked this year at Akron/Columbus, 21/24 SBs is exceptional and not out of career norms. 56:51 BB:K is a bit out of whack, but he does have good plate discipline.

Probably a better fit on a National League team where the bench is used more, I'd compare him to Nyjer Morgan, with a better arm and no cool nickname yet. Lou Brown would love Holt as he hits a ton of balls on the ground and legs them out.

At the very least, a quality pinch runner. Not that I expect him to start under Tito, but he and Brantley could cover some ground together. If all breaks well for Holt, he could carve out a career at leadoff and in left or center. I don't think that will be here, unless Bourn is out for longer than 2 weeks.
