Cleveland Indians Thread of Malaise (2014 Season)

.500 at the break. Just a very "meh" season.

if you were told before the season that michael brantley would be hitting .320+ with 14 dingers at the break, yan gomes would have 12 homers, and that lonnie chisenhall would be batting .328 as a regular player, along with codey allen being very good as a closer and corey kluber putting together an all-star season, you would have thought this team would be sitting on top of the central, or at worst sitting pretty in a wildcard spot.

there have been some epic disappointments on the roster this year, most notably santana and masterson.

and Swisher. This team has to go .750 from here on out to make the playoffs. Maybe. Bottom line.....They're still shitty.

This kid Trevor Bauer looked pretty good from what I saw from him. I would like to see more of this from the starting rotation, and I agree that Masterson needs to take some time off and get his act together. It seems that it is always the same thing for the Indians. No pitching and lack-luster hitting coming down the stretch.

Yeah, Kipnis has been down (partially due to injuries), Swisher/Masterson/Santana have been mostly disasters, and the rotation, sans Kluber, has been a big letdown too. Such is life for a Tribe fan, I guess.

The biggest thing as been the piss poor defense. Errors have probably cost this team 10 games easily.
I follow Monte the Color Man on Twitter- half comedy, half serious Indians fan- and I crack up every time I see him update this:
