Cleveland Indians (official 2012 season)

It is kinda scary... everyone wanted/needed the Indians to win the first two games assuming they would lose to Verlander. But really... now that we won the first two... EFFF it... I want the SWEEP!!!

Time to be greedy Tribe fans. A sweep kicks Detroit while they are down, especially with their ace on the mound today. It should also give the Indians more confidence because last year our head to head games against Detroit killed our season last year. We take the sweep here then next time we face them there won't be that fear like there was last season that Detroit will sweep them and either catchup or put distance between us in the standings.

Hopefully there is a good sized afternoon crowd there today. GREAT weather... GREAT pitching matchup and the bonus of going for the sweep to one of our main competitors for the Central Division title.

Dunno about that...

But, this was a big, huge, monster sweep.

Eh, that's all I'm gonna say, the next 4 sentences out of my mouth feel like immediate jinx type [Mark May].

Not sure if this was posted. But ESPN already took care of the jinxing.

OK, I'll give you Justin Verlander.

I'll even give you Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and Austin Jackson.

But five through 25? I think I'll take the Cleveland Indians over the Detroit Tigers.

The Indians beat the Tigers 5-3 on Tuesday, even though Ubaldo Jimenez struggled once again with his control. Relief ace Chris Perez, who criticized Indians fans on Saturday for their lack of support (Cleveland is last in the majors in attendance), was greeted with a thunderous ovation as he came in out of the bullpen in the ninth inning. With two runners on, he struck out Cabrera and got Fielder to ground out.

I don't know if it is too late or not for the Indians to cut ties with Damon but the guy is worthless. I know that Duncan and Cunningham are worthless also but at least they can play more than one position and Cunningham is a pretty good fielder unlike the other two. I don't know maybe Damon is providing some type of veteran leadership:lol: in the clubhouse.

I can't the Indians find a left fielder from some other lowlife club in the major leagues like San Diego or Oakland or some other team. If not, why not give Goedert a shot. He hit fairly well in Akron and is doing quite well with the Clippers. If he struggles, they can always send him back and try someone else who might be able to bat over 150.

Also, I would not be surprised if Hafner keeps going down the hill.
CHICAGO -- DH Travis Hafner, a big part to the Indians' good start, has a sore right knee and is not expected to play against the White Sox this weekend at U.S. Cellular Field.
From the same article
Acta said he'll also use Johnny Damon, Carlos Santana and Jose Lopez at DH in Hafner's absence.
Now that will bring some real power to the DH spot:bonk:

Cabrera, Santana, and Hafner all out today. Yeesh.

Facing Peavy and his 5-1, 2.39 ERA. Somehow this is one of those throw-away games I see them winning.
You forgot that we brought up Juan Diaz from Akron yesterday. That certainly will put some pop into the lineup. He was hitting a robust 250+ in Akron.
