Same here. I was so excited to get up to the first playoff game in 2007 to see Kenny one more time in a Tribe uniform.

i was there. that game was phenomenal. if you were ever going to stereotype some yankees fan from the bronx, it would have been the puerto rican that sat behind me. dude didn't shut up until about the 4th inning.

Since nobody has posting anything about Grady Sizemore's latest surgury, I'm guessing that you folks are about as apathetic as I am for this season?

At least last year we had the anticipation of seeing some of the young guys like Kipnis and Chisenhall work their way to Cleveland. Also hoped to see White and Pomeranz pitch for the Tribe. This year? Hard to get excited about the chance to see Felix Pie, Aaron Cunningham or any of the other "depth" that they signed this off season. It's only a month till Opening Day and I still haven't downloaded the schedule to Outlook......and I have season tickets!

It was mentioned a page back. I think we're just apathetic about Grady Sizemore. His injuries are expected at this point. I posted earlier and over/under of 60 games for him this year. I was probably being generous.

Season tickets... I really feel bad for you because this team is not going to be very good this year. At least last year, they gave us something at the beginning of the season but I don't see that this year. It is just one big mess.

Well, in fairness, they looked like an even bigger mess last year at this time.

Ubaldo Jimenez surrendered five runs -- one earned -- in an inning against the Reds on Sunday.

Just one of the runs was earned, but Jimenez still gave up five hits and walked another of the 10 batters he faced. It wasn't the kind of start he was looking for as he attempts to shake off the rough second half he turned in during his AL debut.

Didn't see the game, but the reports claim they were "soft" hits. Also remember he is, again according to what the fishwrap guys wrote, working on correcting his delivery issues. They claimed that the vids from last year showed that his stride was inconsistent; it started with his injury problems in spring training 2011 and then led to other mechanical issues.

To me that means he was probably more concerned with his mechanics than pitch selection for this outing. Jimenez may tank again this season, but I don't think we can predict that off the first inning of spring training.

I was there also for that game. It was AWESOME!

My parents had season tickets for about 5 years until 2007 (the year we had that CRAZY run). They learned their lesson, and they refuse to buy season tickets again until they put a worthy product on the field. It's sad because I loved going to games.

the obsession with diving into other teams scrap heaps continues

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/03/indians-claim-rick-vandenhurk.html

The Blue Jays announced that the Indians claimed right-hander Rick VandenHurk off of waivers. The Blue Jays had signed the native of the Netherlands to a Major League contract in February after the Orioles released him.

VandenHurk, who is out of options, has experience in five big league seasons, but he appeared in just four games for the 2011 Orioles. He spent most of the season as a starter at Triple-A, where he posted a 4.43 ERA with 6.3 K/9 and 2.3 BB/9 in 154 1/3 innings. The 6'5" 26-year-old has a 5.97 ERA with 8.8 K/9, 4.7 BB/9 and a 27.9% ground ball rate in 181 career innings with the Marlins and Orioles.

Not that spring training is the be all tell all

but Ubaldo has failed to impress to say the least

a 6.27 ERA in 18 2/3 innings....opponents have batted .325 off of him, his WHIP is 1.93 with an abysmal 13K/10BB ratio

the rotation looks to be a cluster fuck after Masterson....Tomlin is a good innings eater but nothing spectacular, then a conglomerate of bums.
