Cleveland Indians (2019 Thread of Indifference)

Well, that sucks. He was really pitching well. I will have to talk to my back expert to see what could cause that time of recovery.

If it's truly the Teres Major muscle, it's the same muscle group that led to Jurickson Profar missing the entire 2014 season and very nearly ending his career. The muscle itself didn't cause the year ending injury (which was a torn labrum for Profar) but he's not a pitcher and Clevinger is...it could be far longer than the 6 to 8 weeks stated.

Thanks. Clevinger was really looking good. Just hope that he will be able to make it back this season.

This will be fun....

The Indians recalled right-hander Nick Wittgren from Class AAA Columbus. The Indians will need a starter on Saturday in Kansas City. Adam Plukto, the Tribe’s best starting option, is on the injured list at Columbus with a strained right forearm.

Other candidates at Columbus include Asher Wojciechowski (0-0, 1.50), Jefry Rodriguez (1-0, 4.76), Cody Anderson and Chih-Wei Hu (0-0, 4.50). Rodriguez started Monday and Hu is starting Tuesday night for the Clippers.
