I blame Francona ... why waste your closer in game 1 with an 8-4 lead? Then when they needed someone to stop the bleeding in game 2, you have no closer available? And the lefty / righty matchup bullshit with a 5 run lead just wasted more pitchers. Pathetic!

I came here to post the same thing. Wasted him in game 1 with a four run, non save situation. I get he had gone three days without throwing but you know you have a second game to get him some work. To use him in game one when he wasn’t needed, with a second game left to play was just stupid.

Same here. As soon as he brought Hand in during the first game I started thinking about the second game and what the hell would Francona do if he needed someone.
Also, Cody Anderson needs to come back to Columbus.
