So Francona is clearly going to allow his loyalty to Allen to cost the season if hes still the closer after this point and into the playoffs. Sweet.

Cody Allen has a 94-mph fastball with no movement and a curveball that he can't control. He's basically Zach McAllister at this point.

I mean, seriously...you trade for an All-Star closer and continue to trot out a guy who has blown a shit load of saves this season. Come on, man.
Tito has a ton of good qualities. He's been incredibly successful here and i can't think of anyone else I'd want managing this team, but his loyalty to his veteran players is so goddamned frustrating. Allen is total trash and shouldn't be anywhere near save situations at this point.

I'm calling it now... Indians make another run this season and Cody Allen will blow game 7 in the 9th inning to give the Tribe another loss.
Went to bed last night with the indians winning in the 9th lol... this just screams 1997 when Mesa was blowing all of those saves.

I could see Cody Allen surrendering a walkoff HR with 2 outs to a #8 or #9 hitter in a elimination game in the playoffs. That would be fitting
