Thing is with diving into a "rebuild"...and the more i think about it, the more I think it's unlikely...the organizational leadership is concerned about one thing first and foremost, putting butts in the seats. Fan interest when they're winning is still tenuous at best. I'd be surprised if they look at the impacts yet another rebuild would have on attendance and move forward with it.

We're likely looking at a similar situation to the Sabathia, Lee, V-Mart core where they ride them for as long as possible then deal the core away in their contract years for a relative pittance. It'll probably be a slow descent into full-fledged mediocrity, then another fire sale. Huzzah.
I disagree, but that’s because I am saltier at the Dolans than most people still are. They don’t give a shit who shows at the park as long as their TV deal keeps pumping them money...the only time attendance even gets brought up is when they are looking for a convenient excuse not to chase anyone in FA.

Both of those things would be the most Cleveland thing ever. Trade a known commodity for a bunch of lottery tickets. Sashi Brown approves.
As opposed to what, letting them walk and getting nothing for them? At least Kluber is still on a team-friendly deal, once Lindor hits arbitration the team will use that as an wxcuse why they can’t spend any more money to bring in anyone...then he walks anyway.

They didn’t trade anything for him though did they? Wasn’t that a FA acquisition?

He was, but someone would definitely pony up and trade for Kluber. Not sure what we'd get in return for him, but if they were intent on trading him it would happen.

Only way he gets traded though is if the whole team fell out off a cliff and someone wasnt even in it for the division. The regular season warriors will be back next year for likely another quick playoff exit.

Maybe, but I don’t know that they blow things up when they can probably sleepwalk through another season and still get 3 games of October baseball. Really, unless Detroit or Chicago (we damn sure know it won’t be Minny or KC) go on an unexpected FA binge, the division is theirs again unless they play like October all season. But, who knows. Maybe they step back and look at it like we are...that this current incarnation went as far as it could and it’s time to go in a different direction. I’m just a total pessimist and expect them to hump this dream as long as they can with little-to-no return.

I do know this...Kluber and Carrasco are another year older. The bullpen is a shitshow. Brantley is likely gone leaving one of the weakest offensive outfields in the league, and possibly rivaling the early 90s Tribe Punch and Judy outfields. Ramirez was dead weight from mid-August on, so I get the feeling the league figured him out. EE is getting old. Yan is due for a swoon. Kipnis is a dried up husk. Lindor’s a lame-duck counting down to his payday in NY or LA. Unless they go on an unexpecting FA binge, they’ll regress further next year, and the farm system ain’t in all that great shape. Things are pretty bleak from where I’m standing.
