I wonder how that "miscommunication" between a manager and pitching coach would be played out by the press in cities like Boston, New York, etc. The Cleveland writers are a bunch of pussies and are afraid to call out Francona. Talk about dumb managerial mistakes.

The bigger issue here is Willis IMHO. Even if he heard incorrectly, the pitching coach doesn't think warming up Otero to face Votto is a stupid idea and ask Francona, "Are you serious? You want Otero and not Perez?"

Oh, I agree but they do have TVs in dugouts now so maybe Francona should take a peek every now and the at the TV pointing to the bullpen.

Plus, Otero would be pitching for the 4th time in 5 days. That didn’t strike him as odd?
