They blew their wad for a decade or so last year. They are back to the chicken coupe cant close out ganes. Hack inconsistent offense. Erratic starting pitching machine we knew from basically 2002 till last year. Only reason they may make the playoffs is on account of the shit division and they arent going anywhere even if they do make it

I kind of understand them standing pat. I don't think there was a whole lot available, at least anybody that would make a real difference.

If Santana keeps pitching in the vicinity of his first two starts, that's essentially a deadline pick-up right there. I don't know if he will, but his first two starts were encouraging.

And again, I get not selling the farm to get what would likely be a marginal improvement this year. This team has a young core to build around and remain competitive for a few years, and it makes more sense to keep the system stocked with guys to supplement them as guys like EE, Kipnis, Santana age out/leave in free agency. Anything involving Mejia should have been a non-starter, because he will soon be a big upgrade over the Gomes/Perez gaggle fuck behind the plate.

As for this year, hold off the Royals, and just get to October. From there, hopefully they're healthy and can find a little magic again. If we go in with a healthy Kluber/Cookie and a reasonable facsimile of the Salazar we've seen these last two starts, they should be in good shape.

I knew once we allowed that wild pitch that should've been the 3rd out to reach base it was over.

This team just refuses to pull away. KC goes on a two game slide and we comply with a 3 game slide.

I don't like Cody Allen as a closer. Make Miller the closer already.

Looking at the line up Boston threw out there tonight and wtf? I don't know who half of those guys are.

Indians need to get kipnis and chisenhall back tho and they'll he fine

Bullpen is already gassed after this this. If Drone Boy cant pull off 6 or 7 innings (lol no way he does 2 starts in a row) The pen is even more fucked for the weekend.

Hell they may have to leave him out there to give up 12 runs.
