Cleveland Indians (2013 Season)

Mark Reynolds:huh:
Youkilis
Upton in a trade

The other guys are being signed by Boston

mark reynolds is a shitty version of adam dunn, and will still cost a ton. he also doesn't play outfield, which is a real position of need.

youk is a butcher in the field, and has constant back problems. if cleveland signs him to an incentive based deal to play DH, maybe.

but if you're talking about picking one of the three to sign between reynolds, swisher, and youk, then it's not really a debate.

I know that he is young but he still bats from the left side:shake: and I really wanted to get Rondon because if he gets over his arm injuries I believe he will be a very good pitcher.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Indians acquired another first baseman, while losing two pitchers in Thursday's Rule 5 draft.

They took left-handed hitting first baseman Chris McGuiness with the fifth overall pick in the draft off Texas' Class AAA roster. McGuiness, 24, hit .268 (122-for-456) with 25 doubles, 23 homers and 77 RBI in 132 games at Class AA Frisco. He had an .840 OPS, including a .366 on base percentage and .474 slugging percentage.

The meetings end today and McGuiness is the only player the Indians have acquired.

The Tribe lost right-hander Hector Rondon and left-hander T.J. McFarland. The Cubs took Rondon with the second pick in the draft. Baltimore took 16-game winner McFarland with the 23rd overall pick.

unless you're going to resurrect dick jacobs and get the browns to leave town again for 5 years, i don't think it would matter.

I'd be okay with both of those, I think.

j/k...I think the clowns might FINALLY be on the right track with an owner who actually gives a shit.

The guy could barely hit in a bandbox, so now he's supposed to hit in Cleveland? Yeah sure. Horrible signing. His defense at 1st base was great last year, but the hole in the lineup he provides completely eliminates that.

I dont mind the signing at all... Reynolds was hot in the 2nd half of the year...hes going to k alot and have a low BA, but he will hit for power which is something we havent had at 1st with Laporta or Lopez...and i think hes getting better...typical Indians signing

this team played casey krotchrot at 1st last year. reynolds is an improvement.

however, given that it's a one year deal for not much money, this is likely to be a guy that gets dealt at the deadline for a B-level prospect.

When was the last time we actually got a B-level prospect? Even the prospects are dustbunnies anymore.

McAllister...Kluber if you're bullish on him. Scott Barnes came over for Garko, I believe.

Reynolds is a heck of a lot better than Kotchman, neither one of them are starters on a contending (even AL Central) team.
