arizona seems to be the rumor. they will get a deal done. it's the typical posturing that happens at winter meetings.

Phils and D-backs discussing trade involving Cliff Lee and Justin Upton. AZ seeking a SS leading to speculation Tribe could be involved in 3-team swap with Asdrubal Cabrera.

@Buster_ESPN The Arizona Diamondbacks have constructed a four-team deal that's currently dormant. Would net them Asdrubal Cabrera, if it's revitalized.

we better get upton in return for a trade like this...even tho upton clearly stated he didnt want to play in cleveland...no doubt antonetti would make a trade for a player who wants nothing to do with cleveland

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Indians' offer to Shane Victorino was for four years and $44 million.

He wound up taking one fewer year but $2 million more per season from the Red Sox. While it appears the Tribe didn't get the outfielder they wanted, it does indicate that they have some money to spend if they think the player is the right fit. As far as outfielders go, they've also expressed interest in Justin Upton, Nick Swisher, Jason Bay and Scott Hairston.

4 years for victorino...genius

As much as I like him and the fact that he is a Buckeye, he also is another left-handed bat. I think the money that we would have to pay him could be used in a trade so that we can pay for a similar price right-handed bat.

1. he's a switch hitter.
2. what right handed bat?

1. I did not know that. Always saw him batting left-handed. Have to think that is where he is a better power hitter from.
2. Any RH

1. his average is the same from both sides. he hits for more power from the left and has a better OBP, draws walks at a higher rate, and strikes out at a lower rate from the right. the indians need power regardless of what side of the plate it comes from. they also need someone that can hit lefties with regularity, which he does.

2. this is a copout. name a guy that they can sign that is a right handed power hitter, that is in the price range that swisher will command.
