he hits a series of harmless fly balls because he thinks he's a power hitter. lou brown gets mad. dumpster fire of a movie.

I'm sure I've seen it. Don't underestimate the power of repression.

drew stubbs' playing time will be directly correlated with his ability to realize that he is not a power hitter, and needs to make better contact with the ball and use his speed.

Sooooo.....no playing time at all?

Okay, let's keep in mind that all they gave up to get this guy was a soon to be free agent that they replace with Nick Swisher (or Michael Bourn depending how you want to look at it)

Having said all that...

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha...

I guess the good news is, Chris Perez can run his yap all he wants, no one will care now....

At least it won't be boring:

Cleveland Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer responds to his critics ? in a rap song

Well, well, well, this week's Trevor Bauer saga just got a lot more interesting ... and rhymey.

Making the rounds is a new song from Bauer's rap group, Consummate 4Sight called "You Don't Know Me," which has some sharply worded rhymes when you consider Bauer's turmoil with ex-teammate Miguel Montero.

Montero said earlier this week that Bauer, among other things, didn't listen to Montero when he was his catcher with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bauer has since been traded to the Cleveland Indians. Which leads us to this song ...

I wonder if Montero will respond in kind. Maybe he does Southern Rock and can mix it up with a "I hope Neil Young will remember, Southern Man don't need him around anyhow" type thing.

Yeah, I mean, there you go.

I guess the glass is half full view is that we've struggled enough scoring runs that hopefully that will help the pitchers. Now, I think Ubaldo is just crazy-in-the-head, so, he's either gonna get it or not. But, I think Masterson was trying to be too perfect, and a lot of the bullpen guys as well, so, either more runs, or even the possiblilty of more runs should help...

Add to that what should be a night and day change in the outfield defense, apparently the Indians rated themselves last in the league in that category, and Choo was rated as the worst defensive (I'm assuming this is range factor, clearly his arm was a plus) RF in MLB. Staing the obvious, you replace him with Stubbs, move Brantley, who was IMO was only barely serviceable in Center, but will be a VERY adequate LF, and put in a two time Gold Glove winner in Center, and you can help your pitching out quite a bit.

I hate to say that it becomes a secondary bonus that you now cover the long standing offensive black holes in Left and 1st base, by doing that as well. And at least, Stubbs brings a speed dimension to Right if not replaceing Choo's bat there. (And Choo K'd at a pretty good clip too, stubbs actually only K'd 16 more times than he did last year... I'm actually sort of thinking you maybe put stubbs in the 9 hole and let him hack, and if he gets on do the backup lead-off thing, and just kind of live with it)

Obviously the rotation is scary, but again, the Defense should help some, the offense should help a lot, even if only psychologically... and really, Kazmir and Dice-K are probably the two most intriguing reclamation projects out there... (If you dont' count Ubaldo himself) At least they have numbers. Will be curious to see what happens if Kazmir's velocity is where its supposed to be and Dice-K is back to his corner nibbling human rain delay self in Spring Training. (Not anticipating that, and I don't know how many of these guys can be counted on to give a lot of innings even if they are "healthy" but, if you have Masterson, Ubaldo, Myers, McAllister, Carrasco, Dice-K, Kazmir and Vanilla Bauer (if he throws a CG shutout, I'll call him Trevor Ice)... it seems like you might need all those guys to get through the season. (I just realized I have no idea what Josh Tomlin's status is)

I am not sold on Masterson being anything other than a journeyman. I hope I am wrong, but I can see a career of 8-11, 4.67 ERA seasons. Ubaldo is a head case, obviously. Which leaves more journeymen (Myers, Dice K, Kazmir) and completely unproven younger guys (Carrasco, Bauer, Kluber) as the 3-5 spots, with no ace in either top spot. I love the lineup, they will play the style of baseball I enjoy watching, but the pitching could be hard to watch this year.
