Cleveland Indians (2011 Season)

Buster also said, last week, that the Royals farm system is loaded and to watch out for them the next couple years. Could Tribe-Royals become a big deal beyond this week?

I would like to see it, but all this tells me is that the Yankees/Red Sox/etc will have a whole new pond of prospects to fish from :(

The Indians have won 11 of their last 13 games (and the 2 losses were on the road AT LA who's SPs are straight DEALING right now). Yet, we sit at #5 behind the New York Yankees (shocking ESPN!). The Rangers have slipped as of late and are now without Hamilton for a while (Yet the Indians GAIN perhaps their best player in Sizemore).

Colorado should be the clear cut #1 but i'd say the Tribe and Phillies are a tossup for 2/3 respectively even though there offense isn't doing shit in the last week.

On the bright side, at least we're ahead of the BoSox!

Couple thoughts:

I would not be surprised to see Sizemore take the leadoff position away from Brantley. I just think the Indians management is in love with the sometimes pop in Grady's bat. I would much rather have Brantley leading off. We shall see.

Would like to see the Indians keep Buck up in Cleveland and send Duncan down. I think Buck is a much more versatile player and adds a little speed when needed.

Carmona still scares the hell out of me when he takes the mound. I always think that one of these days is going to go off again and will need to be rehabbed in the head.

Like Gomez being brought up. Huff = Laffey = Sowers.

Laporta looked like Vic Powers (60s) at first base yesterday.

I agree about Buck, but I'd prefer they just jettison Kearns. He's been pretty much useless since last May and at least Duncan gives you some power of the bench or to spell Pronk at DH here-and-there.

His D has improved significantly, but he needs to be consistent in the batters box.

I like what i've seen from Duncan so far (surprisingly he hasn't played bad in LF either when needed...but he's no Brantley/Sizmore/Choo).

brantley batting 7th today...i cant see him hitting leadoff unless sizemore starts to really struggle or on his days off...crazy that this team has done so well without choo or santana really producing yet...hafner obviously wont hit like he has all year so it will all even out...crazy to say but HUUUUUGE series vs KC this week

Man, Hannahan has fallen back to earth w/ a resounding thud. They're leaving a lot on base tonight.

In the big picture though, I think Hannahan's defense makes up for the fact that he's a black hole offensively....so long as we're getting production from guys like O & AsCab.
