Cleveland Indians (2011 Season)

I'll tell ya what, the job Nunnally has done with these hitters is nothing short of astounding. They're taking walks, working counts, and getting timely hitting. It's like night and day to the 'hack and wack', swing at the first pitch shit we got on a reguar basis under Wedge/Shelton.

What follows is the M's lineup today...

.258
.145
.245
.200
.306
.159
.148
.238
.194

That looks an awful lot like an April-May Tribe lineup under Wedge. Wedge showing off his April magic yet again. I wish we could bottle that and give it to Ozzie Guillen, Jim Leyland, Ron Gardenhire, Joe Girardi, Terry Francona, etc.

Well, Eric Wedge's Mariners are in a battle with KC right now...1-1 game, M's have runners on 2nd & 3rd, 1 out Top 7...

If you had told me Indians fans would be paying close attention to what the Royals were doing at this point before the season, I would have asked for some of whatever you were smoking.

Couldn't be much happier with the way things have started!

The BP is my biggest surprise. In years past, many of those leads would have been vaporized. Sipp, Raffy Perez, and PURE RAGE have combined for 21 scoreless innings and a 0.667 WHIP, Pestano has a 1.80 ERA. :yow1: After that there's issues w/ DUR-bin and Smith, but those four have been spectacular. That, with strong starting pitching, Pronk's revival, AsCab suddenly becoming a run producer, a FA finding in OCab, improved infield D...man, it's just shocking how well this team is playing.

Part of me is gripping the rails waiting for a severe slap back to reality, but another part is starting to believe this could be one of those surprise teams. Guess time will tell.

Thanks Wedgie!

Tribe gains a one game cushion heading into the battle for first place with the Royals (!).

I'm interested to see how attendance starts doing when the weather improves. This is the kind of team Cleveland should really get behind, and if they keep playing solid baseball, I think it will.

God I hope so. I've gone to two games so far this season, and am already rounding a crew up to attend the next home game on the 26th against the Royals.

The other night I had tickets right at 3rd base 10 rows up and it was $18 - if Tribe fans aren't willing to spend a few bucks supporting this team then it's truely saddening.

8 bucks get you a ticket to the game...EIGHT

edit: yes I agree gas prices are ridiculous, and the 10-20 bucks to park as well. So far my buddies and I are splitting costs for gas/parking and we try and eat before the game to minimize spending (although Dollar Dog night is a free for all!)
