Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

If Kyrie does get dealt, obviously depending on what the return package is since it could be decent pieces for a 2017-18 roster, I would consider blowing it up completely if the trade is more like future first round picks. In that situation I would trade Love and get a decent return and at that point I would do LeBron a solid and let him choose where he wants to go and get a few 2nd rounders. But if they get solid players in return I wouldn't do that until next off-season. Because I truly believe this is LeBron's last year unless they actually turn the trade into a positive. Which, hey, you never know. But usually in this situation it isn't good.

I seldom jump to conclusions, but Bron is gone after this year. You can't blame him. I'm disgusting with kyrie right now. You get a chance to play with an all time great to elevate your status and you pull this shit. Real nice timing too it goes to show you he doesn't give a shit about the organization.

Why would anyone want to go somewhere to lose more? A selfish player that's who.

I wouldn't bother asking for picks. Irving and Love are good enough to make those picks mid-first rounders at best, and that would be useless to a rebuilding team. I think they should do their best to get a good return for Kyrie (or don't trade him at all) and try to give the Warriors hell one last time. Worst case, Golden State sweeps us and we still have an additional year to deal Love and Irving.

The current floating rumor is that Kyrie was the guy telling Butler not to come to Cleveland because things were toxic...I guess he really wanted to play with Jimmy in Chicago. I would trade Kyrie immediately because unless Dan knows Lebron is 100% gone next year there is little reason to keep a toxic locker room.

Kyrie and Tyson Chandler to the Knicks. Love and Frank Ntlikina to the Suns. Melo and Eric Bledsoe to the Cavs. Everyone gets a new lease on life. Booker isn't going to be involved in anything; I can't believe anyone threw that out there.

Of course things are toxic in Cleveland. They always go toxic with the chosen one. The reunion got off to a bad start from the get-go with GM LeBron forcing Wiggins out. Who trades away talent like that before Game One? No GM I know, except one who's held hostage.

Seems Cleveland is toxic right now. Too many pieces shifting around year to year to plug holes and lebron on continual 1-2 year contracts leaving everyone in limbo. Plus Gilbert having no idea how to run a franchise and pissing off players. I really thought they would pick up one more piece, give up the future rebuild, and go all out for 1 more ring. Guess not.

My thought on Kyrie: He is trying to beat lebron out of Cleveland. He wasn't an all star before bron got there, and now 'looks' like one because they play so well off each other, bron gets the attention and Kyrie can beat just about anyone one-on-one. Cleveland ownership without bron have no idea how to attract stars, so when bron leaves and Kyrie is left holding up the franchise all defensive focus is on him, his stats will plummet, and he'll no longer be viewed as an all star. He's looking for a trade to a team that has supporting players to take some of the pressure off of him and to keep him looking like an all star. Wanting to get out of lebron's shadow is just his excuse. I don't blame him. Cleveland basketball is about to become Purdue football.

You're over-thinking this. Last season, Russell Westbrook (and to a lesser extent James Harden) put up historic numbers with "all defensive focus" on them. That's the kind of situation Kyrie is looking for - being the so-called Alpha Dog.

As long as Dan Gilbert keeps signing the checks, I'm pretty sure the players will think he's doing a great job of running the franchise.

Cleveland ownership without bron have no idea how to attract stars,
There are basically two ways to attract stars in the NBA: Money ... and more money. Sure, some guys also want to win, but very few are going to leave significant amounts of money on the table in order to go to a winning situation. Right now, the Cavs have no money to give so they end up with Cedi Osman, Jose Calderon, and Jeff Green in the offseason.

I think there's some of that, but the fact he wants to go to Minnesota to play with Towns and Butler or San Antone to partner with Kawhi tells me he just doesn't like LeBron.
