Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

It's sad, people should be savoring every game, because this is the golden era...but the regular season is so utterly pointless it's really hard to. After football is over, it'll be easier for me to get into I guess.

I thought the East was improved this year. Wrong. Behind Cavs and Toronto, everyone else is fighting to stay above .500
The Hawks looked dominate in they're win over the Cavs early, but then they go and lose 10 out of 11 games soon after. Unreal.

The only good news is that the top of the West has definitely improved.
GS will have to go through the Spurs, and Clippers or the Rockets or Grizzlies to get to the Finals again.
Each of those 4 teams have a legit shot at knocking them out. Golden state is really weak inside.
They screwed up getting rid of Bogut who was great at passing and Ezeili who was very athletic.

Love is looking like his Timberwolve self again. This is the best ive seen him play for us and ive watched every single game.
In the past my mind had always been on who we could get in return to trade Love. Now, I dont think we could get equal value back.
Impressive leap he's making

A bit concerned about my Cavs right now
Down 2 spots via Mo & Birdman
JR could be out for a while... Love's knee
Kyrie is not normal.. for Kyrie.. last time he did this, he had marital issues
Shump continues to do dumb stuff and dangerously, thinks he's better than he is...
We're hurting big time in the middle defensively
despite TT looking massively better offensively

and Warriors coming to town
we look tired again ?!?!? despite the Memphis rest

PS What bigs are remotely available?
seems there are a number of teams looking for bigs as well

Gilbert may have to swallow hard on the Williams and Andersen contracts by just releasing them. No team with cap space is going to take on either of their deals without some sort of draft pick compensation involved.

The Smith injury sucks because it was starting to look like he was regaining his form from last season. He already missed most of camp and now he's going to be on the shelf again.

Not at all worried about Love. It's a bruise. It'll heal.

No idea why you'd be remotely concerned about Irving or Shumpert. Irving is in the midst of the best season of his career and Shumpert is putting up career best shooting percentages.

I will say that the roster construction is not great when it comes to the regular season. LeBron's MPG are the highest since his return because many of the guys are old and not good. Dunleavy has been a huge disappointment thus far and Jefferson has looked like he's on his way down the cliff at certain points. Then you have the young guys (Felder, McRae and, to an extent, Liggins) that are fine for garbage time but just haven't earned Lue's trust for big time minutes. Liggins has a chance to improve his stock as he fills in for Smith.

As for available players, I wouldn't worry about that yet. So much can change from now until the deadline. How many were talking about Channing Frye at this point last season? Griffin has proven his worth the last two seasons when it's come to trades and I trust he'll work his best to turn chicken shit into chicken salad yet again.

Last night... I wanted Kyrie to administer the dagger... and he went MIA... forget his points.. it's WHEN we needed him he looked tired.. again... something's up...
Shump was eaten alive last night... on both ends of the court... dumb passes bug me.. Cavs paid him too much.. he's desperately trying to show they didn't.. but validating they did
Liggins has looked better defensively than Shump.. he's all effort.. wants to belong... getting beat to death but still comes back...
I almost feel bad for MacRae... wish some team would be silly enuf to take him... cuz I don't want him
Does Dunleavy have anything left
I love Richard Jefferson

you're worried about a game they won, in mid december, where it looked like some guys weren't going balls to the wall? also, shump is having a career year shooting wise to this point, and it's not even close. if you actually look at what guys are being paid around the league, then look at his deal, he's actually a bargain.

worried (yours) > bit concerned (mine) .. your words not mine.. cite correctly if you're going to put words in my mouth

balls to the wall... your words not mine; post wasn't about effort; contraire... effort was pretty much there but performance wasn't
Kyrie looks distracted and disengaged... like something off court is on his mind... just started in the last week... not as crisp... don't want him getting hurt
Shump was doing dumb stuff--bad passes; not staying in front of his man; continuing to fire stuff up when it was obvious he wasn't on--dumb stuff.. know your role on team

bit concerned means room for error is less than
if we had a full roster which could take a while
if we had JR which could take 4-8 weeks

don't want to put a normal mid-Dec game on LeBron's shoulders and have him feel he needed to carry the team like he did last night... against hi-energy kid opponents

so, you're arguing over the degree of your over reaction then?

In year three, the "Big 3" are playing their best ball together. Love looked like a lost cause by the time the playoffs rolled around last summer, but he's showing signs of being the guy they thought they were getting.

As long as LeBron/Kyrie/Kevin stay healthy, the Cavs will be a very good team. If they're gonna repeat though, gonna have to add some depth. The bench is pretty damn thin right now.
