Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Btw fuck the media narrative that will be played out that the FO didn't give Lebron the help he needed. This was his team that he wanted.
Yup! He wanted Thompson and Gilbert gave him a max contract. What a waste of money to a one-dimensional player if he has even one dimension. He cannot score or defend when it comes to playoff time. The regular-season is a totally different ballgame.
Lebron got all of his own buddies and now it is time for his buddies to step up and they are not going to be up to it. Love seems almost afraid of contact but I am not sure if we can blame Lebron for him. He probably gave his approval like any other player deal that is made by Griffin. Got to feel sorry, sort of, for Gilbert who wasted some of his fortune on the luxury tax bill when he could have paid off some more mortgages.

Browns to the Super Bowl or the shitty Indians to the WS.

I've accepted that people will always complain about officials, but the refs are not the Cavs' problem. Cleveland shot 14 more free throws than GS last night, the Warriors also committed 20 turnovers, yet the margin of defeat was 33 points.

That's just a major league ass kicking.

the refs totally changed the direction of the game when the cavs were up 6, and they blew 4 calls in a 5 minute span, all of which majorly impacted the game at that moment. simply citing free throws taken to try and discuss officiating doesn't tell the story one bit.

but as i said, cleveland totally laying down after that bad stretch in the 2nd quarter is on them.

Not only is 48 points the largest margin of defeat for the first two games in the history of the NBA Finals, neither Curry nor Thompson scored 20 points in either game. This is a beat down of historical proportions thus far.

So to say the officials "totally changed the direction of the game" is the mother of all excuse-making, and a classic case of denial. This isn't about the officials. Not one bit.

And just so goddamned Cleveland.

when the cavs went up 6 to down 8 in a 5 minute span on the back of 4 consecutive blown calls in golden state's favor, that's the very definition of changing the direction of the game. it has nothing to do with denial or whatever other nonsensical disingenuous term you want to use. of course you've also twice ignored the statement that cleveland laying down in the 2nd half is on them. but to try and assert that the officials didn't totally change the complexion of that game in the 2nd quarter is a total lie.

I concur... your forward gets his head handed to himself and nothing.. but you're so on top of it you can call travelling...
actually made me wonder of conspiracies about fixes... cuz NBA is responsible for Warriors being here... by overlooking Green's kick to the groin

To suggest the destruction of the first two games is the fault of the officials would be like the Broncos blaming "the refs" for losing a Super Bowl 55-10 to the Niners. But do what you have to do to rationalize it.

By the way, it's not "a total lie" to disagree with your excuses. :roll1:

My civilian supervisor at work is a GS fan, and he's been very quiet about the series so far. I had a chat with him this morning and told him that I see no way the Cavs are going to win at home after getting smoked twice...he said he feels the Cavs will win game 3 at least. Guess we'll have to see...

Don't let @Jake or @BigJim see this...

Cavs looking like Goku when he was getting his ass beat by Frieza at 50% max power out here. At no point has GSW looked like they're remotely trying yet they've been able to lay down beatings of this magnitude. I knew the Cavs defense would look sketchy but I thought their offense would look a little more potent. I thought they'd be getting beat like 105-115 or something like that. Cavs going to need serious home cooking just not to get ran out their own gym.

To any NBA savants in here, what can the Cavs do next year to close the gap? This year already looks like a lost cause.

Outside of trading Love, Irving, Thompson or shumpert there isn't anything. They are already over the cap so best they can hope for is to trade one or all of those guys and not get dregs in return. Worst case everyone stays but Lebron opts to sign else where, likely case is its the same team with a few 35+ vets to fill the roster

They still have the Heywood trade exception until sometime in August that they can use.

huge groan. let's pretend for a second that he 100% should have gotten a suspension....that still doesn't mean they lose. shit.....they're torching the Cavs without the MVP of the league.
