Love is gone, and possibly Irving too. I think this team could've beaten OKC, so I'm not sure that dismantling it is the thing to do when there's only one team that can beat you, but you also can't go into each and every season knowing if you play the Warriors you're going to get destroyed. Irving has shot 12/35 in this series. They could move Kyrie for Chris Paul, but who knows what Paul has left in the tank. That's a total mortgage of the future to win immediately. I'm not sure what value you can get from Love, either. He's been mediocre since arriving here, and big men aren't exactly in demand now that Golden State's small ball lineup has taken over the league. Maybe it's time for pay cuts across the board to bring in the Paul-Wade-LeBron-Melo old man superteam.
Beyond Irving and Love playing like [Mark May], the bench sucks. JR, Shumpert, and Tristan Thompson have all been no-shows so far. Richard Jefferson should not be the second best Cavs player in the Finals. I thought they should've gone after Thibodeau after firing Blatt, and Lue has done nothing to prove me wrong. I was honestly more excited about this team when it was Irving, Waiters, Wiggins, and nothing but potential. Now they have title expectations and LeBron is running on borrowed time.
David Griffin is going to have the hardest job in the world starting in about two weeks.
