Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Raptors beat the Pacers last night.

You know what to do, Cavs.

Ho hum. Another game. Another game outscored in the forth quarter. Game must not have mattered? Oh, it did. Well, they were resting LeBron? Oh, they weren't. Well, the Bulls are good? Oh, they aren't.

They're lucky the Bulls won't make the playoffs, because they would give the Cavs a lot more than a 4-0 sweep. Last night was why this team is so maddening...fluid ball movement, good shots, JR hitting 3s, LBJ piercing the paint...interspersed with extensive periods of sloppy handling, turnovers, playground shots, no free thow attempts...all in the same game. The idea that somehow they're just magically going to play the good way all the time in a week is ridiculous to me.

Wrapped up the one seed with a nice win against Atlanta tonight. Kyrie dropped 35 on 50% shooting and LeBron had 34 in yet another insanely efficient outing. Looks like the key guys will have either four or five days of rest before Game 1 of the opening round.

Need Miami and Charlotte to win out with Atlanta losing their last game. Probably would be better off beating the Pistons since I'd rather play them than the Pacers in the first round. I'm guessing the big 3 won't play in the last game so a win is doubtful.

Detroit tonight and in the first round, but I bet both teams rest their best players tonight since 1 and 8 are locked in. IMHO if Miami and Charlotte can win tonight the seeding will be about as good as it can get for the Cavs. Get the Raptors, Celtics, Heat, and Pacers in the bottom half of the bracket.

I agree, and this is NOT sarcasm when I say this...

The Cavs need to avoid ALL the teams with a legitimate shot of knocking them (the #1 seed, mind you) out of the playoffs. And there are plenty of those.

The downside to this, is all of the thoughts that the Cavs will just "flip the magic 'be awesome and better than everyone at basketball' switch" will continue and feel justified if the Cavs manage to avoid all of the teams that can give them trouble. Then, cold reality will hit hard and fast once the ECF and possibly NBA finals come around.
