Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Sweet. Just lose and hope for 1 more Hornet's win.

the hornets will beat golden state. golden state has a top 7 protected pick on the line. if they win one more game, they could end up 8th or worse and lose the pick entirely. they put too much effort into their tank for that to happen.

the cavs won't beat the grizzlies or the bulls. that washington game will be the real puzzler. hopefully they hold kyrie out the last two games to ensure the completion of the tank and end up with a 3-way tie with sactown and the hornets for #3. The Cavs can still get who they want picking as low as #5, provided that the Hornets don't pick top 2.

slightly off topic, but i was in cleveland friday night for the Bellator MMA fights and i have to say next year when the casino's are open one block away from the Q, its going to be awesome...dan gilbert was very smart for pushing for it to be close to the Q...that way when the cavs lose and youve already spent 100 dollars at the game, you can then stumble over to the casino and lose another 400...and it should increase attendance i would think...people in town for the casino may head over to the game if they have nothing else better to do for a few hours...should be fun either way and i know im looking forward to going to a game then the casino

So, once the tank job is complete, then we'll have to wait until the Finals to see the Lottery results.

I'm not the type to say it but I just have a feeling that we're moving up on Lottery night. C'mon #1 !!
At least picking #1 takes the guess workl out of it.

Yeah, the casino will be interesting. I can so see visiting players heading over to the Casino after the game

And on another casino tangent... Will be interesting about Indians games this summer and if there is a bump from that. (As the Casino is advertising at Jacobs field) And I wonder if the casino will comp tickets to those games. I know if the Casino is smart they offer to and from shuttle service for those too lazy to walk 2-3 blocks... LOL

one last question about the casino...did they scrap the plans for phase 2 of it? that would of been the casino that would be built down in the flats...i always thought the higabee building was just a temporary location until the real one could be built

Since Gilbert has interest in both, I could see the big time high rollers, getting court side seats as part of a package.

City of Cleveland (ie the mayor) begged for a temp casino because if they built where they wanted to do, it would have taken a couple more years as they had some problems at first.

Gilbert decided a 'temp' casino wasn't his style and went all out on the Higbee building and decided to have Two phases and connect them.

It's up for debate on whether the 2nd phase will be built. Some people are doubtful it will ever happen but Gilbert has said he still plans on building it but is rightfully focusing on getting the first one open.

Basically my thinking is if the 1st phase fails miserably the 2nd phase will never get built. But Gilbert now owns the land and as long as phase 1 works well, phase 2 will be built. Afterall, Phase 2 will be even closer to the Q.

If not Al Lerner, Gilbert is as shrewd a man as I've ever seen.

an owner like gilbert would drastically improve the indians over the browns with no salary cap...although lerner sucks, i think as long as holmgren and heckert make the right decisions we can be alright there

I don't know how well capitalized the Dolans are, but Randy Lerner is in no need of more cash.
