Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Draymond Green is a filthy fucking twat. For them to complain about officiating early in this series to getting every call go their way when it came to contact on the ball screens. Fuck that, and fuck your Duke twatty style of play, Golden State. Enjoy the spotlight while it lasts because there is no way you can keep that cast together.

Can't be upset... they were able to do better than I expected before the series started. Blatt had a great game plan to start the series but once Kerr adjusted Blatt had no more moves because of the injuries and fatigue to counter anything.

This so pisses me off, If Love was there and/or Irving I think we win this series. So use to this it doesn't hurt anymore.

Hopefully this is just the start of a nice Warriors v Cavs run in the finals over the next few years. Would be fun!

No. Fuck this. Fuck your goat gifs... And fuck the rest of you self pitying Cleveland fans. This wasn't the drive... The fumble or José choke job mesa. These guys were outnumbered and out gunned and shouldn't have gotten past the bulls. Fuck you... Very much.
:slappy: all banding together to get through this loss, I see

Will be a very interesting offseason for the Cavs... Jones/Miller/Marion/Perkins should all be gone. Haywood is hopefully traded but for what I don't know... Hopefully they don't over pay to keep Thompson. Not sure Andy's status. Delly... just not sure what you do there... I think Love will be back this year but if they don't win it all he'll be gone to LA.

Not really sure who they go after. They need to get younger and get shooters and get people on the cheap.

Edit: Blatt... not sure what Lebron will do here.. my gut says he's gone
You send Dellie to the D League where he belongs...seriously it was cool that he was a phenomenon for about 5 days, but he isn't very good at basketball. If they get rid of the Paleozoics, maybe Harris can play some with a year of experience and maybe they can find complementary guys who can do more than shoot open 3s

Was going to wait to get into this... but fuck it.

Marion/Perkins/Haywood are gone. No doubt. Miller/Jones? they are such good buddies of Lebron and at least they were somewhat playable, I don't mind them back as long as they are the 14&15th members of the team. Hopefully they retire. But they would be nice for leadership.

I think the rest of the guys come back, we will overpay for TT, because it will keep LeBron happy and TT is such a big piece in playoff basketball. With 3-4 spots, you get a 5th big, a real backup PG (we need 3 PGs with Kyrie's history) and then a SG/SF type, and SF/PF type to backup.

Delly... he should be back. Really if another team wants to overpay for him, you just have to let him go. Anything more than $2-$3 million is too much for a backup PG that while plays hard as hell, just isn't that good and really should be the 3rd PG on this team.

Andy will be back, should be healthy. But he should be the 4th big on this team and play 10-15 minutes a game. Hopefully those limited minutes will prevent him from getting hurt, but that is why we still need a 5th big for insurance for the Andy injury.

There ya go. Seriously, this explains everything you need to know. I did my best to avoid being the Negative Nancy but when explaining that you cannot expect role players to replace NBA All-Stars, somehow all of my friends doubted me. For whatever reason, everyone thought Delly was somehow the savior of our team, despite all evidence against that in the regular season and most of the playoffs. I of course wanted that but it just was not realistic.

And there ya go again. How can I even be upset after Love and Kyrie go down? Sure, I wanted to believe. But you cannot expect 2 of the best 3 NBA players to go down and expect a championship. But then again, if Blatt listens to me and puts in the best 3rd stringer ever in Cardale Jones, maybe we are playing Game 7. In all seriousness though, how the fuck do we finally have a championship team and only watch them lose due to injury?

My worry is this: Love is all but gone...sure it will free up cap room but who will we bring in instead? This is exactly why I was pissed to give up Wiggins. He is going to be a star and would have cost less over the next 2 years, Love is all but gone, and what do we have to show for it? Another year without a championship. Plus no Wiggins. Plus no Love next year. We sold our soul for one year and it did not work.

I will give you that I do not know NBA all that well. And I will also give you that I do not know Cleveland sports all that well. But I have learned this phrase as part of my own blood in Ohio professional sports...what about next year?

What had Love said or done to make you think he isn't coming back? He's seemed engaged and hungry on the bench. The only 2 guys who I know won't be back are Marion and Haywood. Miller has another year and Jones will come back if Lebron wants him to.

On the bright side they shouldn't have trouble adding a couple title chasers. The Cavs have good depth when healthy, but the right addition could earn some minutes which wouldn't be the case on a team like the Warriors. They need a true backup pg. The second team next year could be new pg, Delly, Smith, TT, and Andy. Andy and TT need to focus on their midrange to stretch the floor. It would be great if Joe Harris developed into a good 3 and D wing. Griffin did a good job over the past year, but this is really when he is going to earn his money.

Leadership? Out of Jones? From my view, the guy looked about as lazy and uninterested as a player could be for getting 20+ minutes in the NBA Finals. The guy put up a goose egg in 3 of 6 games, and his high-point game was 8. And (it goes without saying when it comes to Jones), he didn't exactly grab a ton of rebounds or dish out a ton of assists.

Following on @Piney & @exhawg post s.. and looking at age.. cuz we looked old this last series
"Marion/Perkins/Haywood are gone" helps.. altho Perkins is same age as LBJ
I think these are their ages for the 2015-2016 season

Harris 24
Irving
24
Delly
25
Shump
25
TT
25
Love
27
Mozgov
29
J.R.
30

Dunno what Jones (will be 35) and Miller (will be 36) have left... sad no one ever showed Jones a weight room... cuz he is stronger than nobody and that's why teams abuse him
Andy will be 33... and Achilles tears have a tendency to happen again... hard to fathom he stays healthy all year

We'll be attractive for end-of-career ring chasers.. but they have to still have something in the tank... and not just good locker/bench morale dudes

Maybe we get lucky and draft someone that surprises or one of our intl choices from years past comes thru

With either Love or Irving... we win this series... and Love knows that

I overstated my position most likely but I just feel Love will head elsewhere. I never felt he was truly invested beyond a year here unless he got a title.

As to the rest: I forget we even had Haywood and Marion on the bench, so not upset there. Miller is whatever to me and Jones choked when we needed him. The big thing to me is getting Love back. Mozie, Smith, Shumpert, and Delly are outstanding role players but they are really just that. I'm not saying anything novel here but how anyone thought we could beat GS without Irving and Love is beyond me. We get them both back healthy and with Andy...the Cavs will be the team to beat.

so, love is going to give up millions of dollars to go to a worse team without a legit chance to win a ring why exactly?

Blatt has commended Jones for being ready at a moment's notice earlier this year. So it would be leadership regarding knowing what it takes to be a bench player and being ready when called upon. Also, don't mistake being lazy/uninterested for really being 75 years old and hitting a wall for a guy that really hasn't played much over the past few years. I did see him out there, but he is what he is. A guy that can hit shots when open, but he was rarely open because GS always kept a guy near him at the 3pt line. Heck, Jones actually went to the basket a few times???? Of course he sucked, he was never meant to play heavy minutes.

Now, do I really want Miller/Jones back??? Like I said... I hope they retire. Jones may be the most likely guy to retire since Miller does have another year on his contract. But he is one of those 'friends of lebron' that you have to tread lightly with. I know, I hate it, but it is the price for having LeBron. But as long as they are true 14/15th in the rotation and aren't required to log heavy minutes, we can do a lot worse.

Basically if they stay, it will be to ply againd Sacramento on the second day of a back-to-back...so who cares, I guess
