Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

2014/15 cavs = 2002 buckeyes? One transcendent player carrys the offense and nasty stifling defense to make every game close and ugly.

Dont have the coaching though. Gritty player like Delly/Krenzel making huge plays though and I like that comparison.

Blatt won championships at the lower levels before getting a surprise shot at the big time, just like Tressel.
And LeBron definitely plays Tresselball - some of his shots are just like punts.

Dellavedova - you can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him.

:)

He's the poster child... But really theyve all been wonderful. Even mike miller and James Jones on the floor... We will see what happens but these guys were 6-1 dogs after game one and kyrie went out, basically. Let's see what happens Thursday. My guess is it will be a street fight. Again.

I don't have a horse in the race, so I'm hoping for a great finish to the series. I'm guessing Cavs fans are hoping for it to only go 6 games, but regardless of who wins I want 7! As of now if I were a betting man I'd probably still take GS in 7, but man it could be a great finish.

If the Cavs win Thursday, Golden State will mail it in during Game 5...
Could they? Maybe. But I don't think they would. They will still have 2/3 games at home, so while needing to win 3 in a row sounds difficult, it's not as bad when 2/3 are home. That combined with the fact that every game has been close at the end. Maybe if game 4 is a 10+ point victory for the Cavs they mail it in, but if it's another close thriller I don't see any way that happens.

What an entertaining series. I pretty much hate the NBA but this whole playoff cycle has entertained me more than the NFL did this year to be honest (not an incredibly high standard but I am seriously having fun watching this).

I thought I hated Delly this season due to what seemed to be a 7% shooting average around the perimeter but he is quickly winning me over. He is just visibly getting in the head of Curry and it is fun to watch. Who gives a shit about him scoring, his defense of Curry is making my week. He is the Aaron Craft of Cleveland. Then LeBron is just taking the game over like I have never seen...this guy is once in a generation with all things considered. Tough to watch All-Stars drop like flies but considering that, I am just blown away by the perseverance and determination of this team. Really, all I have left to say moving forward is this:

All In.

The thing about Curry is he averages 24 pts a game. What we saw from him in the 4th quarter last night was the best that he can play and the kind of outburst that won him the MVP, but it isn't his standard. Thompson had a similar run in game 2 and JR is capable of having one of those crazy everything he throws up goes in quarters or halves as well. They need to pump Delly full of fluid and get him ready to roll for 40 minutes tomorrow. Sure Curry can shoot more efficiently all game than he has been, but I don't think he's going to be throwing up 60pts the next 3 games with the crazy shooting we saw in the 4th. If he does come out hot I'd do anything I can to get him to drive and let Mozzy, TT, or Perk give him a couple "good hard NBA fouls". It's probably time for Delly to pull his shenanigans on Green and get him kicked out of a game and suspended for 1, but the Cavs might be better off with Green in the game than Lee.

We need JR or someone else to step up in game 4. I doubt we can count on Delly hitting as many shots as he did last night from here on out so it will be up to guys like JR, or Jones to create space for Lebron to work. I think the Cavs are actually better off with a <10 point lead because going up 20 takes the foot off the gas and relieves the pressure from the Warriors. If the Cavs can make the first half of game 4 look like the first half of game 3 the Warriors are really going to start to feel it. Just keep punching them in the gut until they fold.
