Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Do the lakers or clippers have anything worth offering for a trade?
Why would they trade for him when he'll be a FA?

I know I'm the prototypically cynical Cleveland fan, but I've never bought Love being here long term. That's why I was against the trade. If things didn't go swimmingly the first year, i always figured he'd bolt. And this being Cleveland, things don't go swimmingly, so...

Well, the clippers will be over the cap for one reason. He could sign outright with the Lakers, but he'd be redundant with randle and that team is horrid.

I wish the Cavs would just accept that Kyrie is Iverson, not Chris Paul and Lebron is Magic, but a better scorer. Get a decent point guard for when Lebron isn't playing the 1, put Kyrie at the 2, and get a decent 7-footer. Just because Kyrie isn't taller than 6'3" doesn't mean he's not a shooting guard. Just because Love is big, doesn't make him a "big man".

I agree with what you're saying, but unless your point guard is Michael Carter-Williams, this doesn't work. Irving is not tall enough or strong enough to defend against players like Klay Thompson on a nightly basis.

If LeBron really leaves again he won't be welcomed back. He already wasted the meat of his prime in Miami, and nobody wants to listen to false promises about returning the Cavs to greatness if he didn't really mean them.

The Cavs are in a bind here. LeBron is struggling, Love is struggling, nobody listens to Blatt, and as kujirakira said, their biggest trade asset, Haywood, is useless until next season. I can see them flipping Waiters for a better defender, but otherwise this a fruitless season. LeBron gets a year older and Love could walk.

I think ImFrigginFly makes a lot of sense. Irving could play SG on offense and then defend the PG on defense, just as Lebron could play more of a Magic PG role on offense and guard a larger player on defense. I think it becomes more of an issue if you have two PG size guards out there together for extended periods of time.

Just play match-up defense.

On offense:
1- Lebron
2- Kyrie
3- A Marion type or a 3/4 type based on what you want to match up with on defense or exploit on offense
4- Love
5- Decent 7 footer

On defense
1- Kyrie
2- Marion or Lebron
3- Marion or Lebron
4- Love
5- 7 Footer

Isnt that pretty much what they have been doing? Lebron brings the ball up the floor and initiates offense alot.
Lebron isn't going to leave, he is too old to start over now. He only has a couple dominate years left in the tank.

It sounds like the Cavs are down to trading for the likes of Robert Sacre to fill the gap at Center. Looks like this will be a "down year".
I don't know much about how trades work, does anyone think the Cavs would trade Love if they keep losing? Before he becomes a FA.

I think Kyrie and Lebron are a dynamite combination. Im not impressed with Love at all, his defense is so bad.
