Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Report: Cavs willing to include Wiggins in Love trade...

I can only hope that this rumor isn't true. The Cavs would undoubted give up more than just Wiggins for Love (which, in itself, is way too much). I'd imagine a deal would include Wiggins, Waiters, and a pick, or at least Wiggins and a pick. I think what the Cavs (will) have in Wiggins (a top defensive player on a cheap contract, signed long-term) is better than what the Wolves have in Love (a bad defensive player determined to pad his own statistics on an expiring contract). Sure Love would re-sign with the Cavs, but that has nothing to do with what Minnesota is offering here. Minnesota is offering 1 single year of a very good PF who can shoot the 3. Wiggins has virtually limitless potential and will, at the very least, become an excellent wing defender.

I think Love makes more sense for the Cavs in the regular season, but come playoff time I'd rather have Wiggins.

I dont understand how wiggins for love is way too much...i hope you mean its way too much for Minnesota to be giving up a franchise player like KLove for Wiggins...if you have watched any of the NBA summer league of Wiggins (besides the highlights), then you will know that we may not make it out of the 2nd round this year without making this trade for love...He is great on defense (against summer league players), but offensively he has a long way to go...We absolutely have to win now....we cannot wait for Wiggins to get better while LeBron gets older...we cannot and i hope, will not make that mistake again...the only thing for me that makes this trade somewhat of a no brainer is the fact that Love can walk after this year...that is it...I trade Wiggins, Bennett or waiters, and a #1 pick next year right now for Love...no questions asked

Minnesota doesn't have a franchise player. They have a franchise player for one season. In other words, the Cavs can wait until next summer when Minnesota doesn't have Love at all. Of course, the Cavs are, predictably, jumping the gun and offering too much to the guy holding king high. The Cavs would do well to take a page out of Golden State's negotiating book.

Hes getting traded before that happens...No way Minnesota gets into the offseason with him still on their roster...I am all for waiting until mid season, ive said i would prefer that to happen...but ive come to the realization that this team we have now is not beating the bulls in the playoffs with a healthy derek rose...pacers and heat would make it a very tough series for us as well...if we can get KLove now without the chance of the warriors or possibly Houston getting him then we should move IMO

Franchise players usually play something akin to defense. There are really only a handful of true franchise players in the NBA anymore. Just because he's the best player on a [Mark May]ty team doesn't mean he's a true franchise player.

so to be a franchise player you have to play defense? to me a franchise player is someone you build a franchise around...hence the term franchise....steph curry i would consider a franchise player...doesnt play great defense...kyrie irving? same...Kevin Durant, lebron, chris paul, kevin love, derek rose...all players i consider franchise players

I wouldn't build a franchise around Love--he has been in the league for 6 years now and his team was all of two games above .500 last season. I'm not building my franchise around that. Love is a good player but he's a rung down from the true franchise players. He's a younger Chris Bosh.
