Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Bennett is now 0-15 to start his career.

On the bright side, Bynum keeps looking better and better. I think they said he went for 19 minutes and had 10 points.

From what I've seen the Cavs are a much better team with Bynum on the floor and he isn't anywhere close to what he'll be in a few months if the knees stay healthy. Bennett looked lost out there in the little bit I saw of him last night. He'll eventually come around, but I want to see the physical hard working defender that I saw in the preseason. They really need Bennett to become a scoring option for the second unit. It also seems like I haven't seen much of Waiters. Maybe it's because I watch the end of most games and Jack is in with Kyrie

Oladipo is looking more and more like he should have been the pick. Granted the Cavs have Waiters but Oladipo definetly looks liek he would be a better fit in Mike Browns system than Bennett at least at this point in time.

As much as I hate to say it, I think I agree. Waiters could have come off the bench and given us the offense with the second unit we need, and can you imagine a 2 guard rotation of Irving/Oladipo to Jack/Waiters? The late game strategy you'd have with that too.

If they would have known Bynum would be ready to start the season, I think that may have happened.

At the time, I felt like Oladipo was the best option, dunno if he was the best pick at 1 genearlly, but, it looked like an obvious way to have some messed up recreation of Thomas, Dumars, and Vinnie Johnson from the Pistons hey day. Having said all that, it seems pretty obvious that Waiters isn't mature enough to be relegated to microwave status, so, doesn't mean it would have, you know, worked.

After Waiters came on strong late last year and seemed to, a) be willing to play some semblance of defense, and b) learned shot selection and to attack, I thought this would be a big year for him. Wow....with all the off the court reports going on about a locker room right it is not looking good for him.

The fact is, this team SHOULD be a playoff team (and right now are still tied for the 8th seed in the pitiful East) but they look horrible. Earl Clark so far is a bust, Gee is nothing, Bennett looked solid in the preseason to weak now, Irving isn't shooting at a great clip, etc. The only person who has looked better than expected has been CJ Miles and I never thought I'd be saying that.

But it's still the East, if we get into the playoffs it's still a success based on the previous years and it is going to be awfully hard to not make the playoffs.

most people that followed the team during training camp put forth the idea that a slow start was a very real possibility. i don't know that anyone anticipated irving shooting so bad or jack struggling so much.

While I'm disappointed, they need more time to jell as a team. Bennett is not playing like a #1 overall pick. But I'll give him some time considering he is coming off shoulder surgery and he, after all, is a rookie. Take into account we have 4 FAs (Clark, Jack, Bynum, and Sims), 4 rookies (AB, Serg, Felix, and Della), AV coming off an injury..again. The only two guys that have performed somewhat consistently is CJ and TT. Even Kyrie hasn't played very well. All of the above can be contributed to a new HC in Mike Brown and trying to find some chemistry among the moving parts of this team. 4 - 7 isn't where I hoped this team would be but they have played well at home but have sucked on the road which can be contributed to a team that is still coming together.
