Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I'm not bothered at all with them bringing back Brown. I am glad they didn't make their decision on being held hostage by LeBron next year. He is a good coach and needs to surround himself with the best staff possible. Hopefully he learned and grew in his time away from Cleveland. Heck, the guy actually likes the area and was planning on moving back to Cleveland regardless. I would love them to have a great off-season, make the playoffs next season and not be the pathetic team begging LeBron to come back. I think this is a good way for Gilbert to show he has grown from his post-Decision meltdown.

the cavs are keeping mosely from byron scott's staff. he's the guy tristan thompson cites for his improvement.

the cavs are also bringing back john kuester to be the de facto offensive coordinator.

I'm in the far minority but I'm actually fine with bringing Brown back since he's bringing Kuester back too, a pretty good offensive mind IMO.

This would be good and make me feel better about this hire but where have you seen that information? I have not seen it on twitter or in any of the articles.

It seems the Cavs wanted someone with experience and this was the top guy with the most experience available. I don't love it, I don't hate it but it really is more about finding more talent for this roster. I don't see any top end free agents in this free agency class that I would want to give a big contract to. This draft seems pretty weak unless we get #1 and can take Noel. So it seems like if they really want to make any improvements they are going to have to get creative in a trade but which young player do you give up in such a trade? Kyrie is untouchable and Dion should probably be close to that too unless they were really getting an all-star talent back. Interesting times to say the least, but this team still has a lot of holes and is a little farther away than I thought at the beginning of the season. It will be up to Grant to either find some gems in the draft(which looks pretty weak this year) or be very creative in trade scenarios.

Sam Amico @SamAmicoFSO Mike Brown adding ex-Pistons coach/Cavs assistant John Kuester to staff, and keeping Jamahl Mosley from Byron Scott's staff, source says.

That may have been the most interesting presser I've ever watched. Good stuff.

Hopefully the Kuester & Mosley rumors are true, Brown mentioned he hasn't spoken to Kuester.

i noticed that part. hopefully it's not amico throwing crap against a wall. the fact that kuester is still under contract with the lakers and they are still technically alive in the playoffs could be why that answer was given. but it seems like a pretty obvious match.

i will be happy if jamal mosley stays with the staff...i had the unique opportunity of sitting next to him at a dinner with the rest of the denver nuggets coaching staff, and he was the nicest guy ever...i was half drunk and he answered every question i had about the cavs...the reason im most happy for him is because he left the Denver Nuggets coaching staff to take the chance of teaming up with Scott to work with LeBron...the amount of shit, george karl and his staff gave Mosley was hillarious...but he said he was happy for the decision he made and hopefully it looks like he can continue to be a great assistant...kudos to him

Amico might be the most unreliable and non-credible to ever do it lol. He better not have just made this shit up.

if anything, they should keep him because he was the coach that yelled at lebron to "shut the fuck up" that day at the Q.

Not sure if Houston would go for it, but would you give up second round picks for Thomas Robinson?

picks plural? no. #31 overall, if it's not going to be used to move up on draft night? sure. i'm not sure where he'd fit in the rotation if the cavs drafted noel, but that's not a problem until later in the year. i suspect maurice speights will get buried on the bench once mike brown watches him play defense.
