Circling the wagons... they realize they're married to this idiot for a few more years so rather than bash him, try to bring him into the fold and unscrew his lifestyle.
It's a hopeless endeavor though.

But Winston will still be a 1st round pick. Granted I think he falls out of the top-10 (partially b/c of a bad year on the field), but so long as it's not affecting play time... the Lawrence Phillips standard remains. Players with issues are seen as a (small) discount, not a no-go.
The problem is that nobody was buying the ESPiN buzz around Manziel to begin with... there are reasons he dropped to the 20s, and his party lifestyle wasn't it. Teams not named the Browns actually have scouts that can separate the Myths from the Studs. Just like Brady Quinn, Tim Tebow, etc. -- a *lot* of media-generated hype but not much interest from the NFL.
