Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

There wasn't a flag on the hit so it wasn't late. I can see Garrett getting it reduced to 6 since they can't give indefinite suspensions for on field events. Maybe 4 if they make a case out of the nut kick and say he called him the n word.
Hard pass on the last part if it didn't happen. (And my guess is, even if it did, the only person that could corroborate it is probably DeCastro and my guess is, he's not saying)

My guess is 6. Two reasons. 1. Because of how the NFL worded it, you're kind of appealing it from 6 open ended to be in compliance with it not being open ended. 2. If the league wants to argue it's a personal conduct violation, I think 6 is the standard for that too. (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong)

Edit: maybe nut kick plus nut punch plus Rudolph coming back at him while DeCastro was engaged with him gets you to 4, but given that they don't seem to think Rudolph's actions warranted a suspension (unless the further reviews this week include the zapruder nut shots) I think a reduction is a reach.

Seriously? An NFL Official said it was OK for Mayfield to be hit in the head. And to the best of my knowledge, suffered no repercussions because of it.

Um.....OK? I'm not sure how that answers my question.....other than the video showing he did kinda exactly what Rudolph did in heading towards the person that hit him. Of course, the situations aren't even remotely comparable, so......I dunno where you're going with that.

I’m just gonna say that Rudolph’s agent came out and said they weren’t pursuing “legal action” because he’d have to testify under oath what he did and what he said.

That said, they should make it the 6 games and playoffs and let him back in OTAs

Since you are not a long time Cleveland Browns fan such as myself but have posted quite a bit about the Garrett helmet action, I would like you to read the following article from a Pittsburgh beat writer. It is sort of puts a different perspective on things especially with regard to Rudolph.

They're actually taking more eyes *off* the game by moving it to a 1 p.m. start. A 4:25 p.m. start on CBS usually indicates a national window. This Browns-Steelers will now be limited to more of a regional specific broadcast.

Yep, and a bit less time tailgating for the fans. Wait. I think they'll just drink the same amount over a shorter period of time. Nevermind!

Sorry.....but that's quite a rosy description of the tackle. I'm surprised there's no mention of a pillow and a night time story.

And to use the "no flag was thrown" excuse.....I'll repeat. Come on. Are we saying that in the clip JC posted, Baker didn't get unnecessarily roughed in the head....since there was no penalty called?

edit - oh ffs. "As Garrett was being pushed back, Rudolph (6-4, 235) tried to get through DeCastro to attack him." Jesus. so now we know the intent? it couldn't be that Rudolph was pissed off at having his helmet ripped off, and wanted to do the fake tough guy thing people in sports do when they know the other guy isn't allowed to do anything....he was definitely going in there to attack. :roll1:. mmmmk.

A long time ago I was a kid and my uncle would take me to Browns games. Down by the old municipal stadium there were railroad tracks which were still used and trains would come in from different cities. One of those cities was Pittsburgh. My uncle used to park the car about a 1/2 mile from the tracks and we used to have to walk across them to get to the Stadium. To this day, I will never forget seeing all the empty booze bottles sitting on the inside Windows of those passenger trains. I also remember quite a few fights between guys from Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Things were quite different back then. Just a little nostalgia.

I just wanted you to read the Pittsburgh "side"of the story. No flag == no penalty.
